So, there I am, sitting in posh bit of the aircraft, travelling back to good old Blighty for a few days of R&R and stone me, who takes the seat in front ? It's a bloke that looks a lot like Cal. Anyway, as I was returning to my seat after taking a piss, I glanced in his direction, he gave me a big smile and I realise it is the man himself. So, I just wished him best of luck for next year at Ducati. What a top bloke, he seemed genuinely pleased that someone was wishing him well. He has no airs and graces, he's just a down to earth, likeable bloke. As we were getting off, he told me he was on his way to Bologna to be fitted for the bike and he'll be riding it for the first time next week. We had a good old natter, he seems to be under no illusion that there's a lot of work ahead of him with the bike but I sense he's looking forward to it. I liked him, he's a straight talking, no bullshit, down to earth bloke. Best of luck to him.
I once sat next to Jimmy Somerville from Bronski Beat on a flight back from Copenhagen...... Not the same really is it? OGR
I bumped into him in T5 as he was on the way to the Bologna flight as I was en route to Copenhagen. Small world eh
My wife and I shook his hand at a restaurant at the Phillip Is GP. Very humble and his missus was very chuffed. Man does love his ice-cream too I noticed.
Yeah, he said he was taking BA to Bologna. I asked him why he was flying from Abu Dhabi to London when we fly straight from Abu Dhabi to Milan. He replied the flights were pre-booked. I took it to mean that Tech 3 had booked it and they weren't about to help him out by shortening his journey time to Bologna. He was on his way to be "fitted" for the bike. Small world indeed !
Whats the bets I meet no one other than some other big fat sweaty bloke on the sleazyjet flight to Murcia tomorrow...
