Just thought I would introduce myself, I currently own a 13 Multistrada along with a couple of RD350's and a CRM250. I have just got myself a complete dog of a Superlight, only paid £500 for it but it's going to need work. It's not been run for six years and is in a dreadful state. The good news is it's straight and the bodywork is in good condition with only a bit of work the panels will be ok. No pressure in the clutch, it looks like the fluid has leaked over the cases and made a right mess of everything down the left hand cases. Tyres are shot and the brakes seized, it's going to be a labour of love to get this one back from the brink. I plan on spending no more than fifteen hundred quid getting it roadworthy so wish me luck! Not sure what exhaust is fitted and I did not to try to turn it over as the belts will be perished and the battery is goosed. I will be picking it up mid week so I will do a bit of an update when I have done the complete 'list of stuff that either needs fixing or replacing' All the best Simon

Good to see another being brought back to life. I own MKIII #080 and it should be finished in the spring. It has been a rolling resto. I run the Superlight register. Hello and welcome, for £500 some would call you a robber, well worth the money. Good luck with it. Mines been off the road for 10 years and hadn't been started for 6 years when I got mine. It runs now and is now ready for MOT. Its basically as is when I got it, cleaned the carbs and fitted a few new bits and all is good. Keeps us posted, as Mr. rcv4 said it prob not too bad under all the dirt.
I picked the Superlight up today and managed to have a look over it. I don't think it needs a complete rebuild but it's going to be a labour of love to get it back from the brink. List so far Forks need to be rebuilt with fresh seals Need a fresh rear shock - looks like two choices were Hagon or Nitron without spending stupid money. I went for the Nitron as it comes ready and set up for my weight. Fresh Battery Service bits and bobs including belts Get some keys cut for it New braided lines Fresh set of tyres - Diablo Corsa's will be going on it. It's not going to see the rain or cold, it's going to be a sunny day scratching bike once finished. Oberon slave cylinder Braided hoses for the brakes and clutch. New Tank Fresh side case, the existing slave cylinder has failed and all the clutch fluid has drained out if the system and eaten away at the alloy

I don't think you will need to do much more to this, than most of us do to our Ess-esses as a matter of course anyway....
Bit of an update: It's not too bad once we got it cleaned up a bit. Ignition has been removed and I picked up the unit with a key that had been sorted by a local locksmith. The spares are arriving in a daily basis and can be fitted when they are needed. The next job is to get the carbs off and get them sonically cleaned and rebuilt with fresh jets and seals.
