  1. Looks like the old dog's secured another year.... :upyeah:

Europress reported Wednesday that Forward Racing officials will announce during the season-ending Grand Prix of Valencia that American Colin Edwards II and Spaniard Aleix Espargaro will ride "customer" Yamaha prototypes for the team in the 2014 MotoGP season.

Edwards and Espargaro reportedly will use Yamaha engines of the same spec as those bolted this season into the Tech 3 Yamaha satellite bikes of Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith. Yamaha will provide the frame and swingarm, with FTR building the rest of the bike. Both Forward riders will participate under the new "Open" rules, which allow a fuel-tank capacity of 24 liters in return for using the Dorna-spec electronics and software.

  3. Great News, met him at an HRC night in Newcastle many years ago, when he was in WSB.

    Top Man.

  4. You cant complain about his commitment. Its my understanding the he personally bank rolled the team for the first year. Now that is passion for the sport :upyeah:

  5. So do I. The man is not up his own arse and rides for the fun and enjoyment of it all.

He's so cool we should strip him of his US nationality and make him a Brit!

  6. My Arai Edwards rep is the only replica helmet I've ever bought. The rest are all plain. The guy's a star!

  7. Yup. Love him as a rider.. His 'one in the pink, one in the stink' comments and gestures always have me giggling!

  8. Colin will always have 2 big fans in our house whatever he does. Great news. The guy is a legend.

  9. Yep, I am a massive fan, you name it... Beating (still in my opinion) the best Superbike rider ever (Troy Bayliss) to the title; riding the Aprilia and jumping off it when it sets his balls on fire quite literally at Sachensring. Crashing the 'Cube' the first time he got on it... Telling the press that the first time he got on the Honda V5 it was so good he wanted to go straight back to the hotel and have a 'w*nk'... Need I go on?

  10. Big fan here too. Got to meet him at Silverstone this year; we waited ages and he knew it and loved the fun of it all!

  11. May be a nice bloke but he ain't ever going to win anything again. make room for the young-guns.

  12. Yeah, I do kind of agree but he has a place in GP's and is known as being one of the best development riders around, not to mention the fact he very rarely crashes. Not saying young lads shouldn't be given a chance but 1 youngster and one older development rider is for me a great combination.
