IMO ........Lanzarote Fantastic climate, welcoming people, great fishing, ok food, a proper Volcano......and I'm going on my holiday there this week !... I love this place so much that I hope to retire out there one day !
Leeds !!!! oh yes, I have also been there as a West Ham supporter on a Wednesday evening............most pleasant !:smile:
Lanzegrotty? Is that the best you can come up with? You need to get out and see more  The most beautiful place I have been to (so far) is Boracay. Idyllic.
love it round india asia , been to Goa, Sri lanka, Maldives, id love to go over to china and thailand next ; )
Glitter speaks very highly of the Far East, although the local paper reckons Nottingham is 'the best city in the world'..
You are missing the point ! (as usual). Lanzarote isn,t the most 'Idyllic' or 'glamorous' but it's still my favourite ! This time last year we were in Antigua ............... bored..bored...bored !
I know what you mean. The first holiday I had with the present wife was a long weekend in Wissant. Drove down in the TR6, it was red Hot and there was a festival happening That was idylic.
Not missing the point at all. To me.......and that's key in MY world, Lanzarote is shit. I'm pleased that you like it though. But it's not my cup of tea. But there again, you are from Essex and will know no better. Your username gives it away too
If you want the real pits. Try Blackpool. I went once 30 years ago and swore never again. A few months ago the wife came home an announced she had booked a weekend so we could take two of the grand kids to see the lights. Went last weekend 3 days of my life I will never get back. She never did any research on the Hotel before booking. Chatting with the owner when we were booking in and he made the comment "I hate Blackpool" Thank god for the grandsons they loved it
For me best so far is Mexico, Excellence Hotel Riviera Maya. Just the best holiday we have had by along way, could not fault it. My only complaint was there was a few strands of grass cuttings on the foot path one day, after they had done there daily gardening, lol.
for those on a tighter budget you have to go a long way to beat the island of Tabarca, just of the Spanish coast by Santa Pola (sort of Spains' isle of wight) crystal clear water, a nice beach, a historic town and not much else. No motor vehicles makes it incredibly safe too. (if you ignore falling off the rocks)
Anywhere with no cars no kids plenty of booze good food warm clear seas and a good book Maldives is awesome , Isles of Scilly on my bucket list and New Zealand should I ever win the lottery
