Pretty much all the fasteners on my 900ss are gold aluminium. As well as looking awful they are rounding out rather easily too. I'm going to be replacing them all, even the half decent original ones. Does anyone have a recommendation of where to get replacements. I've seen a couple of shops on eBay that look ok. Please don't mention the Probolt kit. 350 quid for a set of stainless bolts! Ouch. I'd rather not use the proper Ducati ones as they seem to fur up very quickly.
Screwfix do packs of stainless bolts very cheap, like £3 for 100. Not many sizes, but the majority are ok for engine cases and the like. Pick the other sizes up off ebay; just search for the size you want and order it by price low-to-high and buy the cheapest pack!! Don't be tempted into buying "300 piece bike packs" as they are usually 100x bolts, 100x washers and 100x nuts - so only a third of it is of any use.
Thanks for that link. They're not exactly cheap are they. However, I did notice that they have a clutch cover which looks very much like the one from the Mk1 SL which I may have to invest in.
Sorry, should have said, I've never dealt with them, only stumbled onto them while looking for something else, so no idea on value, service or quality.
