Tail Tidy - as good as finished.

  1. Here we go - not brilliant pics but you get the idea...this is now finished bar one thing - the fabricator is going to slot the numberplate and numberplate led holes so they can be moved up and down - ive now fitted this to my termi pipe and on the stock pipes it was a couple of mm off the bottom of the pipes on mine its about 3/4" so it means it/they can be slid up and down to fit. Fabricator also tells me I can have them anodised any colour I want but the price will go up a little (about 3 quid apparently)

Also due to the fact that they are literally all different with regards to mounting - it looks like none of them are straight (my termi is different from the stock - in that its wonky as well) the mounting holes are slightly bigger but there are alloy rectangular washers so you can get it straight for your pipe. Any way here you go....its now manufactured out of 3mm alloy which is a lot stiffer.

I turned the plate round as that's from my old hyper....not sure where it is now but whoever they are they got a good deal! It looks a little wonky as that's due to the pipes and me being a little impatient bolting it all together as I can twist the pipes a bit to straighten it up but the guide will be the tidy itself as that's pin sharp on the angles.

Anyway all in all I think its really tidy (pardon the pun), Tucked right up unlike all the other ones ive seen and its reasonably adjustable. Ill throw up some more when I get the revised one back with the slotted holes and with the indicators on.

  2. RESPECT FOR SMALL LETTERBOX NUMBER PLATE. LIKE MINE

    oops caps> doing some CAD>
    :upyeah:

  3. Caps Lock on - you on Catia??

  4. I'm doing a spot of Thermal Modelling. Adjusting an DXF cad file because Architects cannot draw a fucking straight line that joins up to another straight line. Nor can they do them on the same fucking plane. Twats. I cannot bear poor CAD discipline. It amazes me how stuff gets built sometimes.

I always use full caps in CAD and DSM. Sorry.

  5. Heh - whenever we're fixing machines - users always leave caps lock on (im a sys admin) and usually its catia or unigraphics...

  6. Ironically Ive got my normal number plate on at the moment as I got knicked by a copper on a push bike (I got caught at the lights) he was alright and let me go but I though if I leave it on for the moment chances are ill get pinched the next day by him again....

  7. talking of number plate I did see a good slogan last night stuck to the side of a VR6...

"Goes faster than a smackheads giro"

  8. I get done once or twice a yr. £60 vanity tax. I get let off more often than not but now and again they do me. I guess I'm part of a quota. No big deal. Its only 1 size down letterbox stylee. I just think it looks better.

haha, A copper on a pushbike gotcha. Yeah, yeah. traffic light's...of course there were...

I always have " Sorry :) " as my logo on my bikes

  9. Yeah....he was knackered out when he caught me....told me it was 100 quid fine...

  10. I feel your pain, I spend a lot of my time building terrain profile models to calculate earthworks volumes. It seems most Architects simply cannot be arsed to draw their designs properly, the same goes for some structural engineers too although they seem to be a little better...

  11. There's OSNAP nowadays Attila, You'd think theyd know how to bloody use the snaps by now. Theres no reason for poor cad discipline these days. Fair enough back in the days of DOS ACAD11. But not these days. Bless em.

I'm anal about CAD discipline as I was a CAD contractor years ago. Paid by the drawing or by the hour. Good discipline means quicker turnover and more money. :)

  13. Lol just seen your logo...pmsl

  14. And there we go.....as I say this isn't the final one (that will have slotted holes so the plate and the LED can go up a bit) but now its on the bike - ive got a republique one for sale now if anyone wants it... Nplate.jpg IMG_20131108_054812648.jpg

It doesn't look like that much but the plate can go up another 1/2" or so....on the final revision...

  15. 'Ticks over like a cement mixer full of bricks' from Picture 2.

  16. Ah - yes...I was labouring for the plasterer while we were renovating a couple of years ago when I had the other hyper....reminded me of it while I was cleaning out the mixer....which was full of bricks...

  17. Slight change.... The indicators are going to be on a separate "bar" so you don't have to have the indicator mounts on there (if your using an integrated rear light or another form of indicator) pics soon.... This week hopefully.
