best thing that ever happened for Pink Floyd was Sid Barret popping his clogs.. I donated blood earlier so im tired and am going to go to bed.....cant even muster up the energy for a tug....or even to call Phill's missus..
He became mentally ill and disappeared. Only to return many years later a different man. He died a few years ago. I don't share your opinion on Sid. His lyrics were Carrolesque at times at his influence is all over modern music. Sure the floyd became huge and still wonderful but I am of the opinion we lost more than we gained. And we gained quite a lot.
That docu the other night said a lot about him ... Genius and madness run a fine line together.. With out him there would be no " shine on you crazy diamond " or wish you were here. As for Eastenders ... The only thing I recall was I knew David Scarboro the original Mark .,,, Through school and Rockabilly circles .. He hated the abuse he got slung and being hounded.. Sadly he committed suicide as he couldn't cope with it all in 1988 ... Very sad as he was a quiet chap who tried to keep himself to himself .
I remember Coronation Street with Ena Sharples and Elsie Tanner...............That was bad enough, so Dirty Den and Ang never figured too highly in my must watch list........... AL
