At 37000 euros are you not just better off buying a S1000rr and going to town on weight saving and power upgrades?
The Bim is a nice piece of exotica, but just doesnt cut the mustard on the style stakes..looks a bit home made..which, i suppose, in a way, it is.... The Gixxer....come on...seriously??? absolutely ghastly.
Me no likey that Bimoto, as for the gixxer not liked the last couple of models they have made including the red intakes on the 1000 but that one with the blue bits is shocking :frown:
Unfortunately for Bimota all the manufacturers make excellent chassis these days, so any improvement they make will be minimal. Therefore, to capture sales the bikes will have to look a million dollars to warrant the high price tag - this bike doesn't (although I like the colouring). To know in advance that the bike won't go or handle any better, will be more likely to break down, and you won't ever be able to buy bits for it after about 3 years, you'd have to be very fanatical about Bimota to shell out for one. I can't help feeling Bimota are missing a trick these days. They can't realistically hope to better any of the current crop of sportsbikes; I reckon they'd be better off looking at the naked market or adventure market, where their beautiful chassis designs can be put to better use.
Agreed, I'd like to see them try an 'adventure sized' bike without any pretence that it was an offroader, so no concessions to dual-sport tyres or stupid beaks. The GS proves in this sector, you can go wacky on the styling and frame and people will still like it.
