Getting a 1098 the hard way!

  1. But then he gets a terrific looking bike with a terrific engine. 748/916 is miles nicer than a 1098. As nice as a 1098 is. Plus I note he's also included the brakes which i have to admit will end up on my 916 too. So in all he will have the best of all worlds. Lucky git.

  2. +1 to the above. The 916 is a fantastic looking bike. Then add modern mechanicals. Awesome :upyeah:

  3. Some might say he would end up with a heavy 1098...

  4. hippy

  6. ickle update.
Managed to take the succubus, money pit hoe out for her maiden ride since the upgrades.
She f'ing bogged, back fired and ran like a turd!

Limped back home and pulled/swapped the plugs and hey presto all good!:biggrin::biggrin:
Never known a bike devour plugs like this one! Any alternative to NGK's? They're shite!

Goes like stink, pulls like a pulley thing, idles nice, sounds like Thor's mighty War Cock and no stalling...

Treated her to a quick hose off....:upyeah:

  7. Go for it. Shock mount might be a pain.

BTW youve got the wrong seat unit on your wotsit. I'm guessing you put on the 1098 rear subframe too. Be nicer with a 9** one on.

Still a top job mind. BTW Ive a cheap seat of front discs from an 1198...........on ebay for £200. Yours for £250.

  8. £250 each? I'll 'ave 'em!

Tis easier to mod the sub to fit, than to mod the zorst, although some have.
MK1 did have the 748/916 seat.

Bikey and I were arse fecked by a Mondeo, hence the changes.
