anybody have or had dainese textile bike clothing, as a am about to change my gear after having hein gerickes for 10years
I've been wearing the Ducati branded Dianese D dry fabric jacket and trousers for 2 years in all weathers summer and winter. It cost an arm and a leg at the time but I've never regreted buying them once. They've never leaked in some of the shittiest weather Le Mans could offer and it's kept me warm in -5 and snow. Alright, I do look a bit of a tart with Ducati Corse emblazned all over the jacket but I don't care. Andy
Got the full works for many years = Dainese jackets (various summer / all season), pants (various summer / all season / jeans), gloves (various summer / all season), boots (various tall / short / goretex) and love the gear. Its a bit of a challenge with Dainese sizing I feel as some of my summer mesh jackets are size 60 and the all season jackets fit in size 58.
I've been commuting summer and winter in Dainese Gortex kit for years. It's good. As TBR says, sizing can be inconsistent, so try it first.
I have Dainese Evo Goretex jacket and pants, very warm with the liner in, even in the depths of winter. Rode through some monsoons and never let a drop in.
I have a Dainese Bruce Goretex jacket and pants, rode through the Alps in snow one Easter, warm and dry. The Bruce has the Goretex bonded to the shell so the water beads off the it dries quickly. Hope this helps.
Have the Ducati Dainese D dry expensive but really good water just runs off it no leaks and warm too. Agree with TBR sizing is a bit strange my old Dainese was a 56 the new one a 58 so try before you buy.
Why specifically Dainese? Their textile stuff never seems to do that well in consumer tests, Rukka or Halvassons are worth considering, Halvassons is superb kit and not silly money.
Wet weather gear? Whats that? Anyway, pockets. You can never have enough pockets. I too agree with Dainese sizing, sometimes i am either a 46 or a 48 jacket. Dependant on jacket. Best to try them on in shop rather than online purchase.
I just been to the d store in Manchester tried on a couple of textile suits , I iplumped for teren d dry. as soon as I put this on I knew this was the one. euro size 50. the other one I tried on I had to go up 2 sizes I suppose it was the cut this was called telus this is discounted but didn't feel right it pays to try on before buying . very helpful people there they lent me a back protector just so everything was right
Been using Dainese for the last couple of years and very happy with it. Sizing def odd, got goretex trousers but had to get D Dry jacket as the ones with goretex not a good fit.
I've been using Dainese leathers and D Dry gear for the past four years and have no complaints, I like the way you can mix and match textile jacket and leather trousers when its a bit colder, like everyone says here the sizing is a bit suspect.
+2 for Bruce, water doesn't soak into it because of the goretex she'll so you can ride in it in the rain all day and it doesn't weigh a ton and/or drip all night.
I have always hated "D" stuff thought is was only race suits or leather kit until two to three years ago when I brought some in Italy. Now I have a lot of stuff even some leather gear, shows what a twat I can be. Lot of good kit abut now , Halvassons is great if your small enough in the arms to get their jackets on. Held do the worlds best gloves. TCX are making great boots of all styles now so you need to pay your money and take your choice. All the guys are right about the Italian sizes, I have five jackets in three different sizes and all fit the same! Go figure! One thing I will say is that I think Dianese styling is brilliant and suits all Ducati bikes. Style and substance.
I've been an HG fan having used their Master V for the past 3 years, on average over 250 days a year. All in, it's been astounding kit. But I am now considering the Dainese Stradon - it looks good, and has very similar features to the Master V, except for the addition of the excellent magnetic 'buttons'. It makes access far easier, and avoids the future wear of velcro that loses the hooks/loops over a few years. The Bruce still seems available at a few places, and looks excellent value IF the performance is what others claim it to be.
Tried on a new Dainese Carve jacket today, their sizing is small, you need to go up a size, nice jacket good fit but overpriced at £400. I would personally buy a Halvarssons or Ixs jacket instead, they're just much better value.
defo agree about their weired sizes. i use dainese textile for messing about on short runs. trousers have to be euro 48 and jacket 52. (1.84 tall & 78kgs) normally use dainese K or alpinestars leathers and bothe are size 54 euro.
Ive just purchased a Dainese Aspide D-Dry jacket and its really nice. A pain in the arse though as now i have to buy dainese leather trousers as it wont zip in the Astars ones i bought last year.... oh well, vanity is costly
