2013 Fuel sender issue's ....anyone??

  1. Hi again folks,

well 1600 miles on and the Strada is cooking with gas, phenomenal handling and excellent top speed (ah..em!!)

However, has anyone any experience of this?

Over the past month I notice when filling up that the fuel gauge doesn't quiet read 'all bars', and this has been gradually getting worse....today, on the way back from Hereford I filled up and the gauge didn't register at all. I turned it on and off a coupla times to no avail, and rode the 50 miles home with the solid yellow reserve light on and the 'distance to go' readout saying 37miles despite a full tank.

I also apparently was only averaging 32mph!! (I think not!!)

It feels like the on board computer is starting to go haywire or that the tank sender unit is kaput, so a call to Riders on Monday is in order.......has anyone else experienced this malarkey on a 2013?

  2. Mine is constantly reading zero and flashing! Taking it back to Riders when the weather sorts itself out.

  3. Yep, I am not happy with mine either.

  4. Mine has been fine, no issues. sorry your are having some

  5. 2000 miles and mine OK so far

  6. Sorry guys, can you confirm the model year of your Multis. Trying to establish if this is a 2013 model issue only?

  7. I had the same problem on a 2012 S Touring

  8. I had the fuel sender problem on 2010 multi which was fixed by a replacement unit. The 2013 Multi has been and still is fine after 11+k miles.

  9. This is interesting guys...thanks. I was aware of an issue with the earlier models but its a bit 'odd' that the issue is still with the 2013's?

As an aside another couple of anomaly's spring to mind with the instrument cluster....does this ring any bells with anyone?

'Frost warning light ' refusing to reset despite ambient air being 7 degree's?

'Heated grip' status flashing on and off every couple of minutes....is this normal?

  10. 2013 1200 abs. fine until a couple of fill ups ago. 2500 miles now.

  11. 2010 model no problems, a bit sluggish at times. 2013 model no problems.

  12. Not seen this

That seems to be normal operation.

  13. Well, spoke to Riders and apparently they cant get me in till 10th December but they will do the cable recall at the same time....lucky me eh??.....great!!

I also had a little moan about this condensation/moisture in the sight glass (after 70 miles on a hot engine)....I have 18 motorcycles, this is the most expensive and the only one with this issue!!

So, in month one that's a safety recall, sight glass and instrument consol....please tell me this is not the way of things for the future!!....groan!! oil glass 001.jpg
