Congratulations Marc Marquez. I cannot wait til next season!:upyeah:

  3. Main race was good to watch for the first half and the second half was just predictable.
Well done Mark, a deserving champion.
    Steve

  4. Well done Mr Marquez, a great first season and looking forward to next year.

But my hat still comes off to Lorenzo, what a rider, on a bike that's miles behind the Honda he's won the most races.

How things could've been different if it wasn't for the time out from his crashes and if other riders could've been in the mix.

still, big congrats to MM, looks like he's already taken most of the VR fans as the crowd was just a wash with red.

    well done young man

  5. Lorenzo was startling.

  6. Best first half of a race I've seen in years, Lorenzo and Dani was epic, Lorenzo will deliver some brutal moves on MM and Dani next year, they'll be so many yellow cards it's gonna be great :)

  7. Great, great, great Moto 3 race and awesome start of the main GP. I didnt care about Moto2 this time around thou, but then, I don't think anybody else did either

  8. Must admit I gave moto2 a miss. Moto3 was great as usual, and thanks to some racecraft coming into play the start of the motogp race was thrilling (the second half pretty much as expected though). I can honestly say I've never been so excited before a race:biggrin:

  9. First 10 laps were awesome. Shame about the procession that followed. If VR had the pace it'd been good if he could have mixed it up with the Hondas.

lorenzo deserved the win, rode a fantastic race and when MM didn't take the bait and race showed some fantastic speed on a inferior machine.

i see next season being epic.

  10. I'm getting annoyed at Pedrosa. Every time I write him off he gets a little bit better:mad:

  11. Yamaha really need VR to mix it up next season, I know the fans want it but Yamaha can't have all the eggs with Lorenzo cos that boy is flying the flag alone, the more Vale gets involved it just ruffles a honda feathers, it can force mistakes, points dropped, everything.

lorezno has kept the entire yamaha contingent afloat all by his lonesome this year, at the very least he needs some help IMO

I appreciate rossi pulls a crowd but that will diminish quite quickly as even Toby and Jules were saying today they already know of some 'ex' rossi fans now becoming Marquez supporters (rather fickle I know)

Hopefully Yamaha have some updates that'll keep Honda honest next year, we know JL has the speed and now we all know he has the guts to get the glory.

The gloves came off today and it was frankly brilliant to watch.

  12. Bless him, he went balls out today as well didn't he, it amazes me when you see him stood next to even a small bloke, he's fucking tiny.

  13. Oh well, testing up next. Let's see if them customer Hondas are any good...

  14. i have to add my congrats to both MM and JL for a fitting climax to the season. Marquez has rightly won, and is a deserving champion. Jorge put up one hell of a fight, and i feel that he has gotten even better this year..but Marquez..well....i think he probably even took himself by surprise by winning the title....incredible
Jorge rode like a madman for the first half of that race..in fact a little too mad..hats off too to Dani, he showed some real class and was just unfortunate to have been barged off by jorge...

Call me a sweet, silly, sentimental old hunk, but did anyone else get the feeling today that is really was the end of one era and the start of another? I know Jorge is a brilliant riderand was a worthy champion, but i feel that we have entered the Marquez era and that the baton has been handed over from Rossi, not discounting Stoner or Lorenzo in any way of course....but the whole change of attitude in the moto gp, the change in riding styles etc....Marquez's influence has been huge, and it's impossible to understate his acheivement...ok, so he's got the best bike on track, but fekk me, does that kid know how to ride the thing.....the slo-mo of jorge and Marquez is sheer poetry....utterly incredible, and truly 'awesome'...

MM has injected so much excitement into motogp, just when it needed...

how i wish Marco was there today RIP 58

Im just praying i can watch next season online somehow!!

  15. if MM does it again next year then possibly yes.
but jeezuz talk about hopping on the bandwagon. .
one lucky mofo all season not to have broken bones after crash after crash.

yes he has a wacky riding style and its better with him than without but before I class him as the new king he has to do it again next year..

  16. A great result for young Marc. Hope he can give us more of the same next year.
Have to say hats off to Lorenzo though, never cared for the guy but as a racer he has shown his metal this year. Outstanding IMO.

Also wishing Marco could have been in the mix. A sorely missed talent.

    Bring on 2014

  17. Great first half race as said.

And the Moto 3 was fab. For once the guy I have been supporting actually won!

  18. Kind of agree with this to an extent.

He has had the best bike for a start and whilst he's broken loads of records which everybody is rightly pointing towards, you have to put it in context and look at the fact that everybody else from 2010 has had the rookie rule in place and they basically abolished it for Marquez personally.

As such all those riders not being allowed a factory ride in the first season immediately put them off the top pace and with no chance given to break records. They then have to struggle mid pack to get noticed for one of only a few factory rides and even that depends on available seats due to contracts.

Without MM being given what was easily the best bike on the grid and an immensely experienced team, things would have been very very different.

But all that is history now, everybody will gush about Marquez as their new Rossi but I'd rather hold judgment on that until other riders get given the same chances in life. It's simply not comparable to offer the likes of Redding a customer bike and Espagaro a satellite bike and expect them to make a similar impact. Life's not fair, but it sure does favour the occasional few now and again.

marquez has definitely mixed it up a bit without doubt, but with 15 or so crashes in 2013 and not one injury to put him out of a race Lady Luck surely played a part as well as his skill.

role on 2014 and let's see how he fairs then, he's good don't get me wrong, but Ill wait before crowning him unlike many other fickle fans which have swapped yellow for red in an instant.

New bike for 2014 and my money's on Jorgey boy

  19. Come now, Damo and Phill, let's look at the facts. Marquez has been breaking records from day 1. In every class he's romped home, causing his fellow competitors to shake their heads in disbelief - look at the looks of despondency from Lorenzo and Pedrosa mid-season, especially Pedrosa. It's a credit to both of them that they found the grit to fight back.

He may have the best bike, but Pedrosa's had that bike for fookin' years, how many championships has he won on it..? Marquez has wafted into the premier class and romped to the title at his very first attempt, no-one since King Kenny has done that, and he would have tied it up before season end if they'd had an HRC abacus. And the Yamaha ain't exactly a dog, winning multiple world titles.

Give the boy due credit for what he's achieved.
