Hello to the community, my name is John and my capable pillion is Gill. We have been enjoying my MS1200 touring since April 2010, prior to that 30years of Honda, more recently 3 years of Yamaha. The MS is really a machine of mass distraction and now with 23k miles on the clock (+10k miles on my TDM over the same period as I lived in France intermittently and had a bike on both sides of the water). We are PEMC members and like the tour and greet formula, I mainly use the MS for the big continental trips having just come back from a 2 week tour of Spain 2 up with panniers. My bike is looked after by Mark at Manchester Ducati, they, and Ducati UK have really gone the extra mile to fix all of the first model gremlins. I have just taken early retirement in September and plan to spend more time in the saddle. looking for reasons to get the kit on and set some new satnav trekking coordinates to meet fellow Ducati activists. feedback would be very welcomed
Hi Archer, yes its a great country, we lived in Stockholm in the early nineties and I covered the Nordics for 4 years, some of it on a CBR1000, more recently I have worked on the west coast of Norway for a few weeks, but the scary part is the cost now of absolutely everything, a budget has to be very carefully followed as the most simple things can be expensive. They still havn't invested in motorways so only roads are A roads which the trucks and locals have to use, although the traffic is lighter the traffic can be an issue especially when you take into account the radar and speed limit controls, but apart from that, Hey its a beautiful country. The ferries to Scandinavia are also not so often so unless you go via Hamburg the schedule can be a bit inflexible and also costly. Tussen tacks!
Hi John and Gill, welcome from Cornwall, let us know if your riding this way. Always happy to go out rain or shine! Vince. Multi GT
