Anyone else have problems with air ingress into the clutch slave cylinder mounted on the gearbox? I've tried to release air at the handlebar master cylinder, as suggested here, but that doesn't work for long, neither does cracking the slave cylinder bleed nipple and pushing fluid out there, at least for long. Looks like a full bleed is the only option on my 2013 model. Anyone had their slave cylinder changed under warranty?
My 2013 clutch has been problem free so far. (4000 miles) Sounds like a fault that you should hand over to the dealer to sort out.
A bigger crunch than usual when engaging 1st gear and a tendency for the bike to want to creep forward with the clutch pulled. Also the bike takes off (or stalls) the moment you let the clutch out even a fraction. Sometimes the lever can feel a bit 'spongy'. Hope that helps.
I bought my MTS at the end of April and the problem with mine only manifested itself last month after i had clocked up 8,000 miles.
And, of course, if it stalls you can't start the feckin' thing easily because the bike moves forward on the starter motor because you cant select neutral and the clutch is dragging. Such fun. Remind me please, what are the advantages of hydraulic clutches over cable clutches on bikes? 40 years and 200,000 miles-plus on bikes with cable clutches = zero problems. Seven months and 8,000 miles on a bike with a hydraulic clutch and I have to call out the AA to recover my bike because its unrideable! Never had a fault I couldn't fix by the roadside before. I bled the system two or three times with no success. Progress? I don't think so!
