New front disks , rear cush and labour all under warranty - had to pay for consumables - hey ho - the Gilles Levers will have to wait until the Easter Bunny arrives
Bike is mad. Much better with the longer gearing I ran and crashes well ;-) but 4th gear power wheelies take some getting used to
Couple of scrazes on me and pebble dash bike, snapped the bobbin off rear which is a pain otherwise all held up well
Yeah I had the same ones I should have said I ordered them via harris performance. The problem I had was disks where out of line with pads on 1098 radial calipers ie fouling the outer pads.Disk spacers would make this worse.JHP said only way round this was to skim the front wheel hub which they have done for many race bikes before.I didn't want to go this route as I planned on putting it back to standard if I ever sold it and front wheel would only be good for aftermarket radial set up.Hense I ended up purchasing radial fork feet not brackets.Hope you have more luck than I did. I was using Dymag carbon front wheel though not standard brembo or marchesini.
no bothered (humph) I did order some but the send the old ones with black adjusters However you seem to be missing some decent fluid pots :frown:
The brakes on the 916 are by comparison to my 1198 absolute shite. So if I have to mod them a bit, then fine. I'll know more when they arrive and I measure up. I'm running full race magnesium maresechini's. The ones without the criss cross bracing inside the spokes. I dont mind skimming my wheel as theyre not oem. But from prelim measurements i need to add a shim to move my discs out rather than in. I'll keep you posted when they arrive and i do my sums.
What calipers you running mate. I have found brembo P4 (996R/998) 4 pad brake calipers with brembo radial 19x20 brake master cylinder more than enough. My only reason for going radial is the bling factor to be honest.
Ouch ! That hurts When I ordered these Gilles Ergo GT2 levers, they did take ages to arrive. I think they had just been released at the time. Gilles GT2
both same set up as mine, great addition p4 + radial master 19x20 , so much better than standard, the radial caliper set up does look bling though
The 916 currently still has the OEM 40mm goldlines. I'm going radial for the bling and because the 1198 is so awesome.
that's why I changed my 996 set up, after I bought the hyper and the brakes where awesome, I new I had to do something to the 996 as they where awful
It was the way the 1198 nearly launched me over the bars on my first ride down the hill where I lived that clinched it for me. My 916 never stopped like that. They were okay but the 1198 ones are outrageous.
Erm... let me see: a primary driver gear holder, a primary drive gear puller; and crank rotating pin tool.... sigh... on and a mig welder to make an engine stand (of sorts... which will depend on how quickly I can learn some basic welding technique!)....and to make a head nut spanner for torquing the heads back down... :frown:
