Just thought I'd put a recommendation in here. I've had my Kriega R25 for two years now and it's been 110% faultless. Fits really well even over leathers with a speed hump. The 'quadloc' connection system is perfect for a bike oriented bag, and is very easy to operate with gloved hands. The zips stay shut even at prison speeds. The waterproof material is indeed sweet n sour sauce proof, haven't tested water yet lol. I collected a Chinese takeaway on the 848 and the SnS sauce didn't take well to the 90mph bridge jumping and 130mph sweeping bends out of interest, and not a drop left the bag. I'm currently in Greece on an epic work related road trip to Crete. Whilst I'm travelling in a van, I can also confirm that a well packed Kriega can double up as a very useful and comfortable makeshift pillow on those long ferry journeys. I dare say the rest of the Kriega range is just as good although I haven't tested them. Money well spent!!

That's the tail bag isn't it? Make sure you don't get fooled into think it's meant to fix to your member. (different tail) lol I'm sure it will be more than adequate.
I thought long and hard before buying my R35 because they are expensive, but they really are a top bit of kit and worth the money IMHO.....
+1 for that opinion, I've had an R25 for about 5yrs now & it's by far the best backpack (bike or otherwise) I've used.
Are Kriega the modular bags you can stick together ? Im looking for a decent option for touring, bought some oxford bags for the TT and they were rubbish !
Yes, the Kriega US series are the modular bags you can lash together. They (and the Ventura rack system) are about the only luggage (other than the Ducati Performance stuff) that works on a 696 Monster with the high exhausts. I have the US20 with a US10 on either side as my main luggage. So far so good - 2 days riding in the Welsh rain earlier this week proved that they're properly waterproof. The new US30 has a slightly different strap system for attaching it under the seat which should make it easier to remove the tailpack while leaving the base straps in place.
that sounds ideal, think ill pop down to the local dealer today for a look, one of the oxford bags ended up rubbing on the rear wheel and I didnt notice for quite a few miles...
Well I returned from the iom and it was lashing it down all the way home 75 miles and all inside was as dry as can be, fitted nicely on the back of the 748, a very happy customer. Steve
Same for me. It was terible weather on wednesday when i landed back in liverpool and the 80 mile journey was mostly wet. All my clothes were bone dry
sounds like we came back on the same ferry, the 15:00 to Liverpool - it rained as soon as we left the ferry and carried on like that until I got home..
Thats the one. I spent 20 mins getting my tellietubbie suit on so I stayed dry and it only rained until Manchester
I've used a US30 on my 848 a couple of times and it is 100% waterproof but I've found that; 1. Fully laden it will slip forwards under heavy braking with only the provided straps wrapped under the pillion seat. It bugged me to the point I had to add two velcro joint straps which sorted the problem. 2. You do need to develop a kind of acrobatic karate high kick technique to sling your leg over the top of the pack, which can be painful and/or embarrassing depending on your level of expertise and pain threshold. Now experimenting with semi hard panniers....
Just got back from France on a 5 day trip on my 848. Went with all my luggage in my Kreiga R20 and it was absolutely perfect. It was full to the top but never gave me any aches or pains as the quad-lock system works a treat. Highly recommended!!
Not sure if you are criticising the product for not having a universal fitting, however the US series can act as tank bags, tail packs or panniers, so a bit of trial and error on fitting should be expected I think. No need for any martial arts skills whatsoever on this fitting of US20's as panniers & US10 as a low level tail pack, 50 litres of luggage and no issues.
Echo that - had the Knox before which lasted one year of commuting before it started to rot - literally!
Have got a K35 and have used it for daily commutes and touring over the last 2 years, tough, hard wearing and very comfortable. You pay for what you get!!
