Tail tidy and Panniers

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by cadoganpier, Nov 20, 2013.

  1. Hi All
Does anybody do a tail tidy that allows you to fit your panniers? any advice gratefully received.

  2. Hi mate. I've got the Rizoma and it's great. Also bought some of there little flashers and very happy. The rear end looks a lot better now and panniers fit perfectly.

  3. Hi Ojobear
Do you mind telling me where you go it and what it cost?

    Cheers

  4. I think I got it through Twinshack and about £150 I think which seems steep but I've always been of the opinion that these quality items always fetch good money second hand so.......

  6. I'm looking for something similar, but to hold a smaller number plate (I know, I know... Naughty me). Ideally a 6x4 size.

Like my 1098S had.... But, I still had the option of putting the larger plate on.

  7. the one i give the link to will accommodate any sized plate

  8. Does it not still have the bracket showing under and around the smaller numberplate?

  9. The Rizoma fitted on mine carries a much smaller plate.

  10. Got a link mate?

  12. Don't want to be a spoiler, because the Rizoma is truly a thing of beauty.

BUT, I took mine off and swapped back to the fugly original because my back and/or my pillion was getting covered in crap whenever I went out in the rain.

Since the OP mentioned panniers I'm guessing there might be some 2 up touring going on, so you should be aware of this "feature" before you spend a fairly large chunk of change on the Rizoma kit.

I trimmed off the stock hanger to fit my plate which seemed like a reasonable compromise between form and function (and it's cheap) :upyeah:

  13. I went the r&g route, the quality was lower than I expected. Further it didn't fit properly.
Then the indicators fouled the paniers. Eventually solved this with an all in one real light.
Yes I do get covered when it rains, but then I don't have the rear bumper on either.

  14. Agree with Aircontechnical regarding quality of R&G stuff, fitted 3 tail tidy's so far (new Fireblade, the wife's CBR600 and her new Monster 796) and they have all been a pain to fit requiring cutting, drilling and minor mods. They're crash mushroom stuff ain't bad but tail tidy quality is rubbish. Need a setup for my 1200S Sport and like the look of the above Evotech.

  15. Forgot to ask LeNoir, what size number plate do you have fitted ?
