  1. tracks are safer where the absolute grip limit can be found without drystone walls and trees and fences 10 feet away !!!

I am a member of the TT forum and thought I would copy for you the Statement from MD. Regards Ken.

Just a quick message to let everyone know the situation regarding the 2014 racing season. There has been much speculation about my plans for next year and I have decided to let all my loyal sponsors, team members and fans know exactly where I am at currently. I have not signed any contracts for 2014 mainly due to various complications attached to each offer put to me. I am disappointed to be in this situation, especially after the tremendous season I enjoyed in 2013 and the success I achieved. However, I am as keen as ever to go race motorbikes but sadly at this moment in time I will not be racing in 2014. If something materialises I might consider to come back if am ready and it's the right package but till that i hope to be back in 2015 or if not 2016. I have worked extremely hard to get to this level in road racing and unless I feel I have the right equipment and structure under me I won’t race at all. Thanks to everyone who has supported me through thick and thin there is to many to name but I will see them to express my thanks and I hope we’ll be back on the top step as soon as am back. Many thanks Michael DunlopMD Racing

  3. There is no doubt MD is fast around the TT. Right ride he can become a legend. I don't know why but every time I watch him I just think he's an accident waiting to happen. I hope I'm wrong, it's just a feeling I have.

  4. See other thread...

  5. Oh he rides proper loose, always on the edge and has astonishing commitment every lap (they all do)

I guess as said above, unless he's getting 100% what he wants in team and the way it's structured then I can't blame him

  6. I have and it is not Giving M Dunlops story so I posted it here to give it a fresh airing:smile:

  7. It's hard to believe that the likes of Honda won't just give him a bike like they did wth Joey.

  8. I think they did but I believe MD fell out with Tuxworth. Milwaukee Yamaha offered him a ride also but the terms were not to his liking.

  9. I think Cummings is taking the Honda TT Legend ride.

  10. But they should know the Dunlops do their own thing! After all Joey used to take the HRC bikes away in his van and fettle them in his shed! Someone give this man a decent bike and let him get on with his job without the bullshit!

  11. a picture of Michael Dunlop!...

  12. To be fair he did have the Honda TT Legend bike last year, and the only race he did not win was the Senior which John won again on the same bike as MD.

  13. Expect a merge

Dont get this with MD tho, what else will he be doing to make money? Not like he's a PR dream or even known outside the TT following hardcore bike fraternity.

  16. Threads merged

  17. But maybe that's the problem, just because he's a Dunlop why should he be treated any different or team structures changed entirely just to suit him.

im not saying for one minute that what they all do (TT racers in general) isn't mind blowing and they've all got balls of steel, but JM doesn't get just given a bike to do his own thing, nor does Hutchy.... Or any of them.

The point is from a teams perspective they all have the chance of hiring a top rider, especially as there's a few more than capable of winning the TT , up until last year MD hadn't quite cracked the big bike class so in all respect to him things shouldn't change just to dance to his tune.

its a pity he won't be there next year but it's not a huge loss because Hutchy is making a come back and then you've still got Guy Martin who could get a run together along with plenty of other extremely talented riders.

  18. By all means merge but I hate the title, GUY Martin Chances when nothing in the thread is about Guy Martin.

  19. How true in life thou. The title oft belies the truth of the content
