Almeria 22-24 Jan - JHP/FE Exclusive - 30 riders max on track!

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Dave, Nov 26, 2013.

  1. Just booked it for me and the D16. Anyone else going for a bit of winter sun?

  2. hi dave, reckon that will be a good trip 30 riders, open pit and you get to monopolise hodgesons and Pitts time . enjoy :)

my bike is still languishing in a sorry state after mugello and doubt it will be ready till feb at earliest as i'm busy with other stuff so wont be making that one

are you thinking of doing Mugello again this year? FE announced it today?

  3. Not this year. I'm not pushing hard (don't want to bin it!) so for the next couple of years I want to do as many different tracks as I can.

  4. No its not, anyone can book ..... its on their website, and 30 on track doesn't mean there will only be 30 people there, as long as you're prepared to wait at Pit Lane exit you'll be fine, potentially makes warmers a waste of time.

  5. I like Almeria, I don't like FE. So, no.

  6. Having quizzed JHP about this I am assured that it is 30 people total - no other TD operators there either.

  7. Is it 30 participants or 30 on track...huge difference. If its open pit lane, which I think Dibs is describing, that can be 90 riders all waiting to take turns. Have done a few of those and it works ok, but then I didn't have to worry about warmers. You also get kore racers and bear in mind novice to super fast ACU in the same group...I personally enjoyed them, my inters riding mates didnt.

  8. 30 participants total.

  9. Guessing if its 30 only its about a grand each per day?

  10. That looks super cheap. Only 20k rev to cover 3 days track rental, accommodation, travel cost from UK plus pay some of the start riders? Shame I have no leave because this blows any NL deal out of the water!

  11. JHP .... "3 Days on Track with only 30 Riders in total on this event"

  12. Like i say wish I had the leave. I'd get it booked if I were you, but just be aware of the difference within the riding group :upyeah:

  13. Hmmm. The wording on FE website is a little ambiguous.

  14. i think its a play on words ……..if you had 3 groups x 30 that equals 90 on the tour…………..ive been several places with Nl and FE and i don't thin any of them have ever had 90 the point being that they were not exclusive…….and Almeria is normally a £400 ish deal with FE at that time of the year……plus

If it was a JHP Ducati exclusive then why advertise on FE or if you did advertise it why not say "an exclusive with JHP"………..or even Ducatis…….which it doesn't!

It needs to be described clearer…………..!!

  15. 105db limit. A tad far to go, to be told your bike is too loud.

I reckon they book 100 riders on this, let 30 out on track, you queue up in pit lane behind 5 others, you then wait until 5 riders come in before they let you out.

Similar to queuing up outside the packed night club waiting for your turn to be let in.

  16. Exactly that ....... open pitlane for just 30 people would cost a fortune, a lot more than they are charging ..... we had more than that at Gaudix !!!!

  17. according to FE its is 30 riders total on whole 3 day event with Neil Hodgson tuition included for £689. if thats the deal then i think its quite appealing.

i think the numbers do stack up for a 30 rider VIP event.

normally 4 days at almeria is around £ 450 this time of year, they are already doing a 4 day even form the 18th -21st Jan. so the track and hotel are opening up already for this. its not much more money to tag a 30 people VIP event on the end (same trucks & staff going down/back etc)

add that to the focussed get almeria track and the hotel in Mojacar very very cheap especially at this time of year as they do so many events there.
indeed as its prob about the only money coming in to the whole area at this time of year (apart from the on going fruit growers near the city) so i'm sure that hotelier who stay open in winter are glad of the extra bar/restaurant income too

i think that 105db limit is just a technicality.
almeria circuit is out in the middle of nowhere near tabernas (to give you an idea high planes drifter and loads of other spaghetti westerns were shot there!!)
and i have NEVER seen anyone get noise tested at any spanish or portuguese track

  18. Kevin, didn't know you posted here ..... good luck with this one .... !!!!

  19. !!!
dont know whether to laugh or be very offended

i guess I deserved that though as i do seem to be about the only one on here who thinks FE are not all that bad inspite of the fact that Kevin would be world champion if there was a competition for being a monumental knobtard
