Ok, so seeing some nice 888s up for sale it suddenly dawned on me, i'd rather have a clean 888 of any variant than any current 1199 as a summer road toy. Am i the only one who'd make that choice, even if both were free? I mean, at any given bike event, would one of the many 1199s there draw more of a crowd than probably the only 888? I personally don't think so. Oh, and no i'm not in a position to buy either, just interested.
A 999 As a commuter bike sure, and i guess an R would be ok. But a 999 as something special to put a smile on other peoples faces, i just don't think so.
Nope. If I could afford a fleet of bikes a 888 may find its way in there, but way behind a 916sps, and 848 Evo and a ZXR400L2 But if for the same money an 899 or 888 then the old bike dont get it ;-)
Well I only buy things I want, but just like pulling wheelies and wheel spinning down the road, some times it's because I enjoy it, and sometimes it's to brighten someone's day and give them something to talk about.
those are two complete different bikes to compare. i have a 888 and i love them but if i could buy a 1199,hmmm.... i still love driving my 888,wich don't happen to much anymore it still puts a smile on my face. i think if you want one you have to buy it now,over here in Belgium you can find nice ones for under 5000€ henk!!!
