rear tyre size

  1. Has anyone fitted a 190/50 instead of a 55 rear tyre,
i ordered pr3 at the nec show and have sent a 50 rear, i was wondering if anyone has tried one,
My gut feeling is the 9 mm lower aspect ratio will lower the gearing firther thn the 14 tooth front allready has

  2. You'll just get a slower tip in, depending on your riding style you may not notice it at all

They're just rounder with less peak if that makes sense,

  3. The 50 profile will also fuck your Traction Control brain. It's 55 profile or nowt.

  4. I did over a 1000 miles on an Angel 190/50 and having changed from the stock Scorpians before delivery I had no frame of reference for comparison. When I fitted an Akrapovic end can the difference was obvious. The can fouled the tyre and I had to go back to the Scorpian to get clearance. With the 50 profile you do 5% more revs for the same speed so miraculously no slow speed running issues but other than that I couldn't tell any difference having gone to the edge on both tyres without any moments. 5. The DTC can cope with the change, but you may need to tweak the DTC settings. The speedo will be out to.
theres a post regarding tyre size change on the forum concerning a panigale and the insurers would void if non stock sizes were used. That would be the thing I'd check first ;)

  6. Thanks for the reminder, the insurance risk was a concern,
i have the 55 profile rear coming, in pr3, so will see how they wear/ perform, bike is off road until gritters are finished
    thanks for all the input,
