Sat Nav Mount

  1. Hi, Does anyone know if the German made Navholder will fit the Pikes Peak ? Sticketwicket has one which is pictured in BDG s tank bag thread but screen on my bike is shorter than standard , Cheers

  2. I would imagine it would fit, you can slide the mount up and down as per the screen also, so you might need to compromise a little but I am sure it would fit

  3. Thanks Mate. Only had the bike a short time so not mucked about too much , too busy riding it:smile:

  4. No problem, I have one fitted to mine with the standard screen and now aftermarket Puig screen you can also tilt the satnav up and down on the bracket. I have full range of movement moving the screen up and down and it just touches at the extreme extension but I tilt the satnav down slightly then.

  5. Certainly does in all positions. I use a Zumo 660. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338676035.723012.jpg

  6. Now Jase, what is that rather fetching bag on the handlebars, and is it waterproof? And of course, where did you get it? Cold be just the thing I'm after....

  7. It's a genuine Ducati accessory. Listed under multistrada but I'm sure fits others in range. Has nice red stitching too to match PP!! I'm not convinced it would be waterproof but is shielded behind screen when on move and easily detached if needed. It proved invaluable at tolls recently and I kept. Visor cleaner chewing gun etc in. Fantastic bit of kit was around £35 off memory so not silly for genuine DP part.

  8. Hmm, that must be more recent than when I got the bike in 2010, I'll check it out....thanks Jase... As you say, it's ideal when you aren't carrying the tankbag, but need a little bit of storage 'to hand'... Thanks for letting me know what it is...:upyeah:

  9. That is the one listed on Ducati website but when mine arrived it looked like this one on eBay. Dealer assumed had changed design as part number was correct and fits perfectly.

  10. I got one from Ebay Italy which worked out around 35 quid delivered. Good handy bit of kit and good quality (even though you get a suitcase for the same price!!)

  11. Thanks for confirmation Jase. Are you happy with it ?

  12. Yes very. It sits perfectly so you can just glance at it for gauging road ahead and viewing sat nav visual instructions. The Garmin speaks street names so you can just listen. When waiting for ferry recently a few people commented at how much of a brilliant place it was mounted rather than having to look right down to tank/bars. Doesn't block clocks in anyway.

  13. Thanks again

  14. Just ordered the Navihalter and the final order screen had an entry to say which mount I was using. I said I didn't know yet; I used an iPhone with RAM mount on my VFR. Is there a any difference in the items they deliver?

  15. There are 2 parts to the mount, the main part attaches to the screen assembly the 2nd is what connects the satnav to the mount, my guess this plate is specific to the satnav so I would say this is important

  16. Maybe, but I'm not so sure....mine had no choice, and the metal part you get is flat....you attach whatever mount you need (e.g. The one that comes with your Garmin, Tom Tom, whatever) onto that...the back of the Sat Nav mount should be flat.

If in doubt, ask them.... Even if you ask in pigeon German.

  17. Cheers, that's what I thought.
