A question that's puzzling me.Being that the toll road is a privately owned bit of tarmac,if you decided to do 150mph,should plod be able to do anything?
They hang around at Norton Canes services usually north bound catch people speeding and pull them at the toll booths when the driver is queuing/stopped waiting to pay so I say yes.
In some way (not sure exactly) its bound by the same laws as any other Motorway in the UK. Remember reading some French Footballers including others got nicked for 96mph+ some years back.
These people? Is there a speed limit on the M6 Toll (In depth question)? - Yahoo UK & Ireland Answers
If it's like NZ, any private road that is publicly accessible (ie: No gates or some barrier) is subject to the road rules.
I raced a cop car up the M6 toll road, he was laughing like a schoolboy. His fault; he came past me at about the ton, I decided if it was good enough for him I'd do the same, then he speeded up, so I did too, moments later we were flat out!
As I remember it is anything that is covered by the road traffic act, so that also includes supermarket car parks and anywhere where a public vehicle has access
The M6 Toll is a road under the definition of the Road Traffic Act 1984. Be very wary of speeding on there. It is patrolled by unmarked cars and when my wife used to work in the local court offices, it was this road that kept them very busy.
However, as it's a relatively quiet stretch of motorway, the police do seem more tolerant of a bit of sensible speeding. Keep it under 90 and they're not likely to give you a second glance. We're all adults, you know the risks, the key here is the word 'sensible'.
