  1. Oh well if you knew that before buying it I suppose you can't complain then and say that other dealerships are fitting for free, but I definately spoke to Martin @DG (the owner) and he told me that it was free fiting.

  2. Till they don't sell any

  3. plenty of bikes come with free goodies when they are trying for sales , ive had r1 wi akros zx10 with akros and all free, and to charge £90 to fit a couple of bolts when the belly pan would probably be off for the service sounds a piss take to me but if peope wanna pay its up to them, mind ive just been quoted 3 hrs labour to fit a set off a dealer so theres a piss take if ever I saw one coming ,mind may have got a free set of termi stickers so its probably worth it , anyone want a cheap panni S get in touch

  4. It might be different deals for different dealerships, depending on what they expect the sales to be like.
Places where they sell less may get more lucrative deals to encourage sales.
Thats how it works with car dealerships so cant see it being any different with bikes.

No matter what all I know is I have enjoyed taking mine out but now looks like it wont see light of day till spring :(

  5. If anyone is interested this is what the 899 sounds like with Termi's

  8. Liking that. Look forward to getting mine on, I've only done 50 miles :-(
Is the termi emblem a sticker or a little plate? on my mates multi pikes peak he has a nice plate.

  9. I've got charged £180 for run in service for my 1199s earlier on this year, which is a bit of a pisstake.

also, planning to go for 'SPECIAL OFFER' from ducati for the chain sprocket upgrade kit to improve on low end.
anyone had it done? it is worth it? my SPECIAL OFFER price is £150+£66 fitting... doesnt sounds like anything special if you ask me?

  10. got quoted 260 special price off one dealer last week ,special for who ,,not me

  11. i must say, to me this chain/sprocket upgrade (if it is actually works) gotta to be a warranty job as the bike is crap at low speeds (which you have to do often enough if you live in london) . don't mind paying for it but just don't like the attitude like: SPECIAL OFFER for current owners . do they really expect me to believe that 1x sprocket and chain can actually be more then £150? a bit patronising really...

  12. Let my qualify that soz.
    Exactly

  13. I paid £80 quid for a chain on my old ZXR400 and that is going back over 10 yrs ago.
The whole chain and sprocket set was £130 back then.

  14. The charge for fitting exhausts is usually related to maps and Throttle body sync rather than the physical bolting on. My previous bike was an Aprilia and had a similar charge for the Aprilia Akra's which came with the deal.

Not all dealers will charge it but many will. You can't just bolt them on and ride away these days.

  15. Yev... I had a couple of test rides with the original sprocket set up and was not convinced with swapping my 1198 in but when I test rode one with the sprocket upgrade I ordered one straight away. Loads of low down grunt like the 1198 but much smoother at low speeds..

  16. which model you on about Charlie the 1199/899?

  17. I dropped a tooth and the fairy left a fiver under my pillow now thats inflation for you !!

But on a serious note, I dropped a tooth off the front cog on my 848 streetfighter it does not make it ride smoother but it does lift a lot easier in 2nd gear where before it would struggle a bit, I dont believe in slipping the clutch I like to do it off the throttle.
My 848 Evo had the same done plus full Termi system it lifts in 3rd at around 90/100 mph

The hunting problem has always been there with the Dukes at low speed you will never sort that out with chain and sprocket sets, its fuel mapping, throttle body set up and fine tuning of the engine that will fix it which they have done with the 899.

If Charlie boy is saying that the 899 has no grunt with standard sprocket set up, then I think the garage have played around with the set up, It has 3 power modes low, medium and high, in low it only chucks out 90bhp, I think the dealership conned you mate, they had it on 90 when you first test rode it then gave you a load of baloney about sprocket change and on 2nd test ride they changed the engine mode to medium or high both of which chuck out the 145/148 hp.
I certainly didnt find my demo ride lacking in grunt and I had the bike for 2.5 hours :)

  18. i think both charlie and i were talking about 1199, not 899 ( well i was)

  19. Yes I was talking about the 1199. I don't think I was conned the standard one was plenty quick enough just not the initial oomph my 1198 had. I have done a few track days on them with standard sprocket set up so know if works well when giving it plenty of revs but with the upgraded sprocket setup it has more torque low down and still plenty of power up top.
