    I was at the FA Cup final too against West Ham...

Good business move by the club, they will reap more in increased attendance and merchandise fees that will at least equal his salary, not to mention the massive TV money when they get into europe. If they did decide to sell him before his contract is up, i dread to think of the transfer fee, look at Gareth Bale.

  13. Had a mate with a champion racing snail.Their careers at the top are also quite short.
    As he started to get older and slow down, my mate removed his shell to make him lighter and more streamlined.
    Didn't work tho. If anything it made him more sluggish!

  15. Football is business. Business is accountants with spreadsheets. Someone somewhere must have worked out how many goals Suarez is likely to contribute, what that means in terms of Prem points, consequent attendance and merchandise sales. I bet it makes some sort of business sense for Liverpool.

    Personally, I dislike Suarez quite intensely, from what I have seen of him, but it's hard to deny he is one of the best footballers in the Prem and Liverpool wouldn't be in their position without him. That entire city breathes football, so he's probably making many people very happy.

  17. Tying him up on that length of contract and for that kind of money means he will be sold next summer.

    Same thing happened with Cristiano Ronaldo, and Gareth Bale. And they both went for shit loads.

  18. Yep, he will be off to Real in Summer if we don't finish>4th and get Champions League. But not for £40M +£1. He will be £80-£100M. Ridiculous money i know. And yes I agree that the money in football is outrageous and disproportionate. But footballers earn peanuts compared to american footballers, baseball players etc. Sport money is a joke all round. Not just football. I cannot defend the money they earn and agree with Richard.
