  1. no bad, no bad.

  2. I'm totally disillusioned with the Premier League.

Cheating has taken over from skill and endeavour.

There is a fascinating book called "The Dark Heart of Italy" (a country which I love).

There is a chapter devoted to football, and it describes what we call cheating as cunning and guile, which are held as admirable traits in that country.

A different and equally valid perspective to mine.

I'm totally disillusioned with the Premier League.

  3. I balance it out by being a Queen of the South supporter too as they are my 'home' team. Keeps it real.

  4. To look at this from another point of view, he is employed by a private company, none of us contribute to this private company and therefore his salary , unless we choose to buy their products or via a tv deal such as sky . It us up to the company what they pay their employees but before you complain and comment about how much nurses get (who I agree are underpaid by us taxpayers) consider how much tax Suarez pays and how many nurses his tax could pay for. He will be paying more in tax in 2 days than I pay in a year. We should hope for another million privately employed taxpayers contributing what he does as that would truly benefit the UK and that is before you factor in additional tax take on what he spends his left over money on and the fact that he takes almost nothing in return as he and his family will have private healthcare etc.
I`m not a Liverpool or Suarez fan and not saying his salary is right or wrong.

  5. That's the whole point though, isn't it? It's not an equally valid perspective. It's the perspective embraced by almost the whole of Africa and god knows how many other countries in the world, which are all worse off than the countries which work on the basis of honesty, cooperation and trust.

It's the reason why you have the Mafia running half of Italy and why the country is an underperformer.

Cricket isn't ruled by cheating cunning and guile (well, not cheating anyway), and nor is rugby. It should be stamped out in football. It was interesting to hear Roy Keane telling Patrick Evra that in some match he couldn't understand why the defender had not brought down a player who went on to score a goal. He said he would have had no hesitation as that was his job. Football is not being played according to the rules - it's evolving into a different game with the connivance of those running the game. As a result, the paying public sees fewer goals and gets less of a spectacle for its money.

If you want to reward skill and spectacle, you get the cheating cut out.

  7. FE, All of them. In my dreams. I kick every ball.

    The fella is on fire.

  8. Earning his money again today, scored two and its not over yet.
    Steve

  9. He is undoubtedly one of the best footballers in the world today. That's why Liverpool have signed a long term deal with him. They think they'll get £80m plus for him in the summer too.

  10. Thats just wishful thinking of the non Liverpool supporters, after watching most of his interviews on LFC TV his decision to stay with Liverpool was made clear He and his family love being there and what happened in the summer only confirmed it in his own mind, if it was solely based on money he could go next summer or wait until the end of his contract and get much more.
At the moment he loves where he is and looks like staying for a while, that said, a week in football is a very long time.
    Steve

  11. Steve.....you know that was all claptrap that LFC supporters want to believe. He is a mercenary. He will go when Real Madrid put their £80m plus offer on the table. Fact.

  15. Is the correct answer.

  16. Well that went well.

  17. The Reds was robbed.

  18. I think they were. The ref was playing to Suarez's reputation.

  19. Don't know about that, but one of their goals, ruled offside so clearly wasn't. It was a ridiculous decision.

  20. Off down the cafe now with my daughter and mate.

Then off to The Boleyn for a 12.45 kick off against West Brom.

Shit or bust today. There may be trouble for fat Sam if we lose!
