Can you buy motogp leathers?

  1. I have always loved some of the leathers that the guys in the motogp wear!

Is there anywhere you can buy them?

I was specifically thinking of Nicky Haydens leathers he wore this year.

  2. Having just had a quick Google, I doubt it, the sponsors change quite a bit. Personally, if you know the leathers you want, Hayden as stated, email Alpinestars and ask them.

  3. I assume you mean replicas rather than the actual things, which would only be useful in the main if you were a dwarf.

Dainese will do you custom leathers. Just ask them.

  4. Genuine Casey Stoner leathers. Worthless or priceless?

  5. Matters not I wouldn't fit them so I wouldn't buy em

  6. They'd look great hanging next to my £1500 Riders empty tool box tho :upyeah:

  7. Yes they would , that'd be the toolbox empty cept for the £300 torque wrench that never gets used.

    Mr nasty.

  8. Oh no they wouldnt...

  9. Scott Leathers in Durham will do them. They are doing a made to measure one piece for a mate in Repsol Replica's

  10. I disagree PJ.

I'm sure you could squeeze your little tush in them.

  11. Hey I'd get in em fatty wise , but my arms and legs would need some freaky long gloves and boots.

  12. i think you also would need the relevant bike, i mean repsol leathers is going to look crap on a yamaha

  13. I think most people would look like a proper tool riding around in a pair of those.

  14. Not if you've got a top of the range bike and ride it as was intended.

But it does raise the ante somewhat...

  15. I think it's more classy to rides ones Desmosedici RR in plain black leathers, what have you got to prove?

  16. Well, that's the problem isn't it? If you have got a Desmo, it does need to be ridden in a certain way - you do sort of have to live up to it, in my book. The Desmo owner who brakes too much for corners and has monster chicken strips, and who never redlines it - well, you do look like a bit of a dick. You don't want to be an "all the gear but no idea" sort of rider.

Whereas, if you've got a smaller less ostentatious bike, no one really cares how you ride it.

So to me, if you are going to do ostentation, you might as well have the leathers to go with it. The worst would be to ride it about in a leather jacket, suit trousers and office shoes. Eeek!

  17. Went to Moto Direct in Derby for a Dainese custom fit last weekend, a nice little Italian chap and his entourage came over to measure up a few people - I got an invite via my Ducati dealer.

Quite please with how it turned out, few more changes to make but I may just take the plunge.

Cue MASSIVE amounts of abuse from you lot...
