I've recently sold an item on eBay (used exhaust) and the buyer is registered in the USA which I accounted for with shipping rates in the listing however he's actually now saying its for his brother who's based in Japan and would I ship there instead, a bit of a pain in the ass as he's paid for the shipping to the USA already but it's looking like Japan will cost more. (I'll ask him for the difference) He's got loads of good feedback so I'm not too concerned about that, but having never shipped to Japan I don't want to trip up and get stung for charges/duty so I'm just looking for advice. the site I've checked so far is transglobalexpress but that does mention duty 'charge backs' to me personally if things aren't right? Am I ok shipping a used exhaust? I can't see why not, but is there somebody I should use where everything is simply taken care of for me any help appreciated. cheers
personally id click to cancel and re list. sounds like a pain but just make sure its fully tracked and sent to address that pops up in relation to the transaction only. never post to any other address from that instructed by ebay
Ditto. Ship it to the seller and let him worry about forwarding it on. That way you cant fall foul of any eBay rules if it goes wrong. If he pays by PayPal you have to ship it to his confirmed address anyway. Well you're supposed to, but some don't.
Well the problem is now the bloody reverse. when he paid he wanted to send it to Japan and so that's the delivery address he entered and that's what shows up on the transaction details documents, I however told him I'd need to get new prices for sending to Japan he said not to worry and just send to him in the USA instead, he'll then forward it to his brother. well paypal stipulate it must be the address on the transaction details , which isn't the bloody USA any longer. I've emailed paypal to see if they'd change the address to his confirmed USA one but unless they say they'll cover it the deals over. pita
just message him saying only the address approved can be posted to. and unless he accepts this then the cancel transaction will be sent. your taking a risk here not him. and youll lose out not him.
Thats pretty much what I've just typed to him. his ultimatum is that we cancel the transaction and if h wants to re buy then he's more than welcome to OR I continue to ship it to Japan as outlined in his purchase but there may be additional postage costs. hes a nice guy and all that but it's becoming a pain in the arse. anybody wanna buy an Akra off a multi? Don't know why I didn't whack it on here first tbh
