fire on board boat……..

  1. a passenger was quoted as saying..

"diven facing naw wot was ganging an loike, smuuuke was all rund an al….!

  2. "The boy stood on the burning deck - Twit........."

    Spike

  3. At the risk of appearing to be a picky twat - it was a ship, not a boat...

But, being serious, the crew onboard appear to have done an excellent job of containing and extinguishing the fire. Having spent four years teaching marine damage control and firefighting I know how hard it is to get right, without the added hardship of "self-loading cargo" - a big "well done" to the guys onboard...

  4. i did do that deliberately …..stems from annoying an ex Navy type at work…...

  5. The easy way to remember is that you can put a boat on a ship, but you can't put a ship on a boat...
    Unless it's a submarine - in which case it's always a boat...

  6. Good job the rest of the passengers didn't know who was to blame. He'd have been swimming home.

  7. The boy stood on the burning deck, his feet were in the water,
The Captain said 'for ruining my boat you'll kiss the Gunners daughter'
'Hooray' said the boy, 'is she a buxom lass and should I dress to court her?'
'No' said the Captain 'she'll leave you bruised and you'll wish you stayed at quarters'
