Out of the thousands of poor hard done by persecuted motorcyclists that attended the premier motorcycle event in the country.... Who got a ticket for a small number plate, a loud exhaust, or a dark visor......
No, not me either. But only because everyone I know including me, had been persecuted out of smaller plates over the last few years. Gone are the days of friendly local biker cop who everyone knew but who would give you a bollocking if needed. It was a very effective approach that worked well. These days it's ticket, fine, points by some humourless spotty type about half my age.
If you can be ar$ed look into how the Avebury bike meet was "persecuted" out of existence. Often (in the words of the great bananarama) it's not what you do it's the way that you do it...
so hands up how many people have cops saying sorry when they pull you over for no reason and cant find anything wrong with your bike.... I'm still waiting on mine
I went to the Avebury Bike Meet a few times, and there were always a minority few acting like complete knobs, doing burn-outs, wheelies, and stupid speeds past the pub. it was often quite embarrassing! With displays like that going on it was inevitable that it would be ruined for the majority
I'd rather watch. Stunt monky dong a few wheelies or whatever at a bike meet than the tit who does 60 thru he villages en route. C'mon fellas, we're bikers; we love a bit of danger and anarchy
