  1. Maybe we should invite Piers Morgan to try and set the world record for dodging Shark attacks...

  2. In fairness, both. I'd have given anything to get into motorsport as a kid, but it was simply not possible, as the financial and logistical backing wasn't available.

  3. But how fast would he have been without the air - dam at the rear of the truck?

Should have fitted a rocket onto an old tradesman's bike and saved all the effort................

  4. Cyclist that close behind lorry = fuckin twat.
Sorry I just needed to state the obvious .

  5. I'm never quite sure about GM.
He is a character, but is he a twat?

Some of the interviews he gave at the TT where a bit cringe worthy.

  6. I like him. He's human. Plus i'd get on with him. I like oil and engines and tea. Plus I talk shit and am generally harmless.

Mind you Ive had to trim my burns down since he and Sir Brad popped into the public consciousness.

If anyone interviewed me when shit wasn't going my way, I too would talk utter shite and blame the world. I'd be okay 5 mins later. But the heat of whatever moment bollocks is why I like him. He is honest enough to be a twat in front of the camera.

  7. People who don't appreciate what Guy achieved = fuckin twat. Sorry, just stating the obvious !

  8. I think ripleys baby was referring to the cyclist on the road in the video clip, not Guy Martin

  9. Oh, him ? Yes, he's definitely a twat !

  10. Unless, of course, he's American...
Draft : US spelling of draught (Oxford English Dictionary)

  11. IMO , like pretty much everybody else's . How could you possibly not like Guy Martin. I certainly would never refer to him as a twat .

  13. Enjoyed the prog but bit of anti climax and again GM shows himself a bit of a know-all, disregarding specialist advice...

  14. Guy is a great roll model in my eyes and a proper grafter. And he will win it !
The program did remind me of when I was younger and fitter, I use to chase to buses down the dual carriageway, in their slip stream ( not holing in ) one day I was doing 50mph and then decided to overtake the buse. I got along side the bus, next to the driver and he looked down and then did a double take as I passed him at about 55mph. The look on his face was priceless !
anyway, I passed the bus and had to keep pedalling as hard is I could for the next 300 yards until I turned off, that 300 yards was hard and I was breathing out of my arse after that. Chasing the bus was easy, after I was out of the slip stream, fuck that was hard !

  15. Which he isn't...........and don't tell an English qualified draughtsman how to spell draft........

    AL

  16. I thought it was a top prog and as has been said he's got some balls, I was a little surprised that they did the run on Pendine sands, rather than a stretch of tarmac, doesn't Millbrook have a big enough oval?

  17. I too like Guy, he reminds me of the late great Fred Dibnah in certain ways. He loves his engineering etc and is not trying to be anyone he isn't.

  18. That's a very good comparison, both have a very similar style and mannerisms, both also possess a modesty which instantly endears you to them.
