Silverstone MotoGP (Spoiler)

  1. Judging from what Stavros was saying, it looks like Cal is almost a cert for Ducati. Doesn't seem like he's in the running for a factory yamaha, and the honda is out of bounds to everyone but Marquez, so I don't see what other choice he has. To be honest he'd be better off trying to keep the seat he's got.

  2. Agree, he's better off staying at yamaha and having another great season to take on factory ride in 2014 than jumping to Ducati next year

  3. After watching Hayden keep up for a good part of the race, he once again shows that the GP12 is not soooo bad.... imho, Rossi is embarrassing himself and Ducati. Sitting in Abbey, he just wasn't riding hard enough imho - throttle off early, throttle on late... sorry, but it just wasn't good enough.

  4. Rossi says the true Ducati of the day was Hayden's. He says he doesn't do well at Silverstone and that the exhaust broke as well, although that didn't cause any problems except for power loss. Hayden said he started well but then the tyres went off and they had an electrical problem in one of the corners.

The upgrades coming up will be make or break.....

Also I think the Ducati team next year will be Rossi and Dovi

  5. The interview with Ellison was insightful, when he said the chatter would trigger the electronics which cut power and made the throttle not work as it should therefore chatter even more! Just take em off, job done :)

  6. Cal dont bother with Ducati !

  7. Yeah, forget Ducati! It's a rubbish brand!

  8. The strange thing is that it is unlikely that Ducati would say to Cal, mid-season, "Come and ride our bike and see what you think of it. If you like it, you could race one next year." So he is meant to make a major career decision based on ..... nothing much. All he currently knows is that it can't win or podium in the dry.

I wouldn't be in that much of a hurry...

  9. Fact is, on his satellite bike Cal is troubling the podium while a 9-times world champ is struggling to stay in the top ten on the full works ducati. If Cal goes to Ducati it can only be money-related.

  10. If Ducati came knocking on your door and said - "Would YOU ride for us next season?"

    What you going to say?

  11. No. Obviously.

  12. Cal being a Yorkshire lad I'm fairly certain that is the correct answer

  13. A Warwickshire lad that already has enough money to live and have cash stashed in the isle of man.......although money has to be a massive factor, I don't think that is what is driving Crutchlow at this point of his career.

  14. Yes, but if he takes the ducati ride you'd have to suspect it's a big factor. Why else would he agree to ride a less competitive bike?

  15. I don't think he will....unless its his ONLY option left to stay in MotoGP.

He'd be far better off on any Yamaha or any prototype Honda.

  16. Jeez, I don't get you lot!! If he's being given the opportunity to ride for Ducati what difference does it make how much he's being paid?? He's not going to the fucking poor house is he. For christ sake it's Ducati. The Ferrari of bikes!!! You don't say no. You sign. What happened to the little guy taking on the Big Four. What happenhed to OK I'll try and beat the bastards at their own game. What happened to the guy that can turn it around?? The Smarts, Hailwoods, Fogartys, Stoners, etc GODS

    Go on my son!!!

  17. Some people like pain, in leathers, out of them on bike in leathers in leathers off bike ;)

  18. Come now, do any of you seriously expect me to believe that Cal would forfeit a chance of a motogp win or even the championship itself by signing to ride a notoriously hard-to-ride bike that's struggling to stay with lower end satellite bikes, unless it was for the money..?

  19. Nope. Cal is never going to win on a satellite Yamaha. So he has an equal or better chance on ANY factory bike. That includes Ducati. And amongst factory teams, Cal would be mad to turn down riding for the winningest and most famed motorbike company in racing history. It isn't for the money. It is for the prestige and opportunity for the humble bike racer from Coventry.
