  1. Now I'm back off my hols, I collected the Aluzzura today, straight up to the workshop and the strip began. Updates as and when, but don't hold your breath...

  2. Nosy Darren says:

Where the hell did you find an Aluzzura? How much was it??

  3. I was after a Pantah on eBay, messaged the guy for details and he was selling up his bikes due to moving to the States. He mentioned he had this and the rest is history, the price was fair :upyeah:

  4. Nice find nick, keep us all posted, what are your plans??

  5. I'm on the hunt for a 91-92 750SS to use the engine, with the Pantah heads. Then graft on the front and rear ends and bodywork along with the frame mods and bobs your aunties live in lover! All I need is a nice ally swingarm, a trick shock, a small battery, a new loom, some decent carbs, the frame and wheels powder-coated, a complete exhaust fabricating, a repaint......and that's just for starters!

  6. Imagine you are going to get it seriously breathed on, as once you've put it in that chassis and with the mega accoutrements, you'll have surpassed the motor's potential by a mile. When I ride a friend's Bimota DB1, it still has all the handling you could want, despite being 25 years old, but you have to wring the nuts off it if you are used to the progress afforded by modern machinery. And even then...

  7. DIY job? I thought you were just going to hand it over the the Spanish maestros. They are Spanish, aren't they?

  8. My first job is to get it built, once it's together I'll sort the motor ;-)

  9. Nick, I've got my S4 swinger going spare if you can use/want it.

  10. Cheers Andy, but I'm after a 900SS one, this is what it's going to look like when I've finished it, hopefully!!

  11. Please don't wrap the pipes, looks ugly and like they weren't fit to be shown!!!

  12. Think long & hard Nick and be sure you're gonna be happy with the end result.

I think (and it's your opinion that counts) the Imola looks better ...... that looks like a bevel that's been rear ended by a modern street fighter ... too many different styles going on in one bike!

  13. Have to say I agree with Littlebert, not keen on the looks but that is just my opinion. I have standard looking 1983 Pantah but with a 750ss engine from the early 90`s. It was fitted by DTS years ago. Much as I love it, with hindsight I should have gone for a 900 engine as the real world difference on the road is very noticeable.

  14. Nick, i am encouraged by your enthusiasm and sort of like the look of the project, i think my back would protest though. questions, it seems there is a load of interest in the reverse rear cyl conversions, or right way round? apart from asthetics why do you think this is so popular? if it started out life that way why not leave it that way? and why a 750 not a 900?
all in all a nice thing to look at, even the wrapped exhaust, personally i would have wrapped the silencer to save getting a scorched ass.

  15. If you fitted a reverse(correct way around) head on a 900 I see no reason why you couldn't use it, other than the fact it's a chassis designed in the late 70's for a bike producing about 50bhp, albeit with a different front and rear end. A 750 to me is more of a 'correct' fitment, and I'm not chasing every last horsepower. If i can set the chassis up to make it a great backlane scratcher I'll be a very happy bunny. I'm in negotiation for a 750SS at this very moment....

  16. Looking good Nick! I like the right way round heads on a belt ss 750 engine idea. Would be even better if you could find a early 750ss engine with the dry clutch.

  17. I've been very lucky in finding a 650 Aluzzura and a '91 750SS in the same week, finding an early dry clutch motor is seeking the impossible!

  18. Nick Your on a roll mate ...lol 91 750ss! you will find that is a dry clutch version according to my ss bible!

  19. Half-fill the engine with oil for that authentic dry-clutch clatter... :upyeah:

    Plenty of photo's please Nick!

  20. I'm pretty certain all the 90's 750SS were wet clutch, to get a dry clutch you need to look for something like an F1. A bit like the F1 I sold a few yeah back DOH!!!!!
