Dyno help needed

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by JerryXt, Jun 18, 2012.

  1. I may need to find a dyno cpmpany who lets other people hire their rig. I have a company lined up to do the tuning on my RS, but we're having an issue over me leaving the bike with them. Basically, I don't want to leave it anywhere and he's not happy working with me 'looking over his shoulder'. Fair enough really.

I have another guy who has the correct software and leads, but he has no dyno, so we're looking for people in the Silverstone to London corridor who might rent out dyno time.

    Any ideas?

  2. Jerry give Dave Woods Racing a call in Aylesbury.

  3. Thanks Phil, much appreciated.

  4. Probably a little too far north for you but SPR racing in nottingham will do just that, the only stipulation is that the owner (sam) is in the saddle when using the controlls, i think for insurance perposes but it suits me fine, their number is 0115 9216958.

  5. Thanks Spike, much appreciated.

  6. What about JHP?

  7. d'you know, that came to me last night! Talking to JB about it now.

  8. Is that "Just high prices"?

  9. well, they did build the BSB 749Rs and they are very nice bikes. I know where four of them are and they're all running well. Riders ran some of them for a few years and they're good bikes.

  10. Tagg Racing down near me in Kent have a Dyno, and are very relaxed about it's use etc. It's out of your way but if you're interested I can give them a call for you, the owners are both very old friends of mine.

  11. Thanks Nick, helpful. The issue is getting the leads and software and the dyno all together in one place. I've got to find out where the software man is. I understood that he was oop norf but today I was told he was closer. He's only charging 45p a mile, but it adds up!

  12. Jerry did you try to get your own software/cables?

  13. Yes, I did Lucaz, but they're around £1,000 for this bike. TBH I've got better things to do with a grand!

  14. Now I am interested, is that ducati software/cables? You know there is free software about that allows to program ducati ecu's?

  15. yes, but not this ecu! It's a race unit and nothing like the road box sadly.

  16. Go on a hacking forum and declare this ecu is not hack-able ;) Maybe instead of renting the bloke with software/hardware you could just rent software/hardware for less?

  17. ahhhh nothing like a bit of bull to ramp up the price............only surpassed by the ramping up of the hp numbers....

  18. Andy, it's just like the 996, 998, 999, 1098 factory race bikes. Which isn't too surprising given that this 749 is also a factory race bike. Get your fat arse down and have a look over it. You might get to understand that it's not a road bike with some bling thrown on it.

In the mean time, I'll get my fat arse over to the garage to see if I can place this trailer.

    Where's the 'hug' smiley?

  19. Have you got it set-up now Jerry?

  20. not yet Andy, had the Olympics around this week and off to Italy next. I'll give John a buzz today (he was out last week) and see when I can get a slot.
