So sorry Torquepen...most unlike me...I over slept. Had a really bad night not sleeping, no real reason. Finally passed out at 7am....didnt wake until 30 minutes ago.. REALLY SORRY
Clearly all that electronic wizardry stuff on the Multistrada didn't include an alarm clock... Hit road closures going south so doglegged over to Midhurst. Enjoying free wifi & a coffee in the Verdi cafe place...
Lol Sideways look on life! Lot of flooding on way down. This was from the hold up road diversion at Buck Barn that we rode into. Cops picture from Twitter
Certainly not. We had a word with a copper just south of Southwater & doubled back because of it. Took Guildford road to Alfold junction & rode thru Loxwood to come out the right side of the Newpound bridge on the A272 which was impassable. Down 272 to Midhurst which looked like it had just recovered from flooding. Grabbed a coffee before dropping south to Chi & to Bury. Coming down from Bury Hill, the whole south valley behind the Downs appeared to be flooded. Rode thru 8" to 10" of water coming into Pulborough. I saw Pete get a boot full! Luckily the low spot over the bridge there was passable but the water was all over the road before that.
First ride of my Triumph Sprint since crashing in April, filtered all the way from Washing roundabout to Buck barn crossroads where there were many police people and the southbound A24 was blocked off due to the accident. Left the Sprint in good company; next to my Ducati in a mates garage in Horsham, it's new temporary home as I have had to vacate my rented garage! Forgot how powerful a near thousand cc bike is and inadvertently exceeded the speed limit a tad!
Nobody was getting through Buck Barn crossroads today John. It finally re-opened at 3.40pm. Not ideal conditions to be reacquainting oneself with a powerful bike, that's for sure. Worse to come too
Not for me S, I'm off to hotter climes on Wednesday. Tiger tours will be back in action and the madness and mayhem will continue!
Check earlier posts...... but I gather they will be closed for at least a month, maybe more. Their loss-adjuster has been, but there was a lot of flood damage needing major repairs..... photos on earlier posts
