My opinion, is the rider at the rear. Excess speed, in foggy condition, far too fast and close to stop, piss poor observation, no escape route etc etc. I guess having cameras fitted made them want to look good on film for their mates, but not so good for the court, which I'm guessing is where this went...
I'd say the biker at the rear, but the copper jumped out from the side of the road when the front biker was almost upon him. You should always be able to stop for any obstruction in the road, but the fact that he came in from the side late on was a stupid move. Police probably hiding behind the excuse of road safety cause an accident Fact is though, the 2nd biker will get all of the blame here.
The copper is just as much at fault, what a stupid thing to do, his jacket moulds into the background. So much for high viz
I totally agree, I'm just saying what the copper did was stupid. The second biker should have been able to pull up in time whatever. How many times do you see multiple vehicle pile ups on the news during heavy fog on Motorways. Yet the police decide to go out in the fog and jump out into traffic.
i seen this on DUN. turns out it was a stunt. (gone wrong?) i have had similar thing happen to me at port glasgow where a police man has jumpd out from behind a bush with a camera i swerved and on coming car ended up on cerb ( i was speeding ) 40 in a 30.
By all accounts, not a 'real' policeman. Was set up for filming purposes....well that's what I've read on the Fast Bikes twitter feed
Maybe the second rider should either fix or learn to use his front brake and not just stamp on the rear?
I reckon both riders were riding far to fast for inclement weather conditions............just look how quickly the first rider closes the gap when Plod steps out..... The second rider was doing 90mph and the gap between him and the first rider wasn't changing much (in the short time in can be seen). I doubt if Plod was doing a speed trap on 70mph limited road..... .....Probably a 50mmph limit (I never seen a handheld used in a 60mph limit) AL
That's a 60mph innit.....Well, I reckon both of the riders were 30mph over that..................Front rider used front brakes, twat behind him stabbed the rear brake.......
60 is too fast for the conditions and visibility in my opinion. I'd be more like 50 max on that road at that time and a damn site more vigilant than the rider was. He is totally at fault.
Not a 60 IMO.....just count the sections of the speedo (and they can't all be seen in the vid.....)..........I'll stick with 90
