I've been thinking about sorting out the rear of my bike. The plan is to eventually get some Termis on, but first I want to get a slightly smaller plate, tail tidy and an integrated rear light, allowing me to remove the stock indicators. I spoke to my local MOT garage who said that they wouldn't fail me for the integrated light, but ive been advised that I may need to get some resistors put in. Looking around, the only options are clear or dark smoke, but I would really like a red one. The bike is black and I like the way the red lens sits in the tail. Has anybody any experience doing any part of this? If you have some pics I would love to know roughly what it will look like before I start dismantling the back of the bike Thanks in advance
Most of the integrated indicator led light kits available will already contain the resistors to fool the system into thinking there is a working conventional bulb fitted and correct the flash rate. Keep the mot tester sweet, as it should fail because the indicators are too close together, and on most of the kits the lens are not e marked either. That was the info I was given by a tester in a dealers anyway, but they do change with the weather.
Looking around the net I found this which should foot the bill eMoto - Ducati 1098 LED Tail Lights Has anybody ordered from emoto, or better still have experience with these lights?
This is the best way to tidy the rear end up Competition Werkes number plate bracket that relocates aftermarket indicators (supplied) inside the seat unit behind the mesh in the 'vents' on the seat unit.
I like the idea of getting them in the vents, but one would imagine the vents are there for a reason. I was looking at the option of moving the plate back into to the bike over the hugger, but that would be a clear MoT failure and I dont want to start dismantling the back once a year, every year. Lovely picks thou. Looks like a lovely farm house too
eMoto went bust about three years ago after very poor customer service. In fact customer service did not exist !!! As for the vents in the tail unit, countless people have done this mod without any issues especially on the US forums. I would imagine that the number plate above the hugger would attract unwanted police attention, it does not take much for them to pull you anyway so this may give them another reason to give you a ticket. Does tidy up the rear end a lot though.
they must have paid for their domain name well in advance. The website is pretty much still functioning. Oh well, no rush
Yeah it is a nice farm house ta lol. I've only ever been pulled once for the plate so not that bad after 18 months use. The vents are only there for styling purposes I believe. I think it is running a little rich but I've never cleaned the pipes as I kinda like the soot look lol
Pretty tidy me thinks. No need to change anything come mot time apart from the number plate which takes 2 minutes. Plus no attention from the law.
Spotted the horse box, you worked that trick as well ehh. Here you go Dearest a lovely lorry to stay in at shows with the kids whilst i go out on the bike. Byeee Only trouble is the horses and associatted goodies make my bike parts look cheap. Ouch
Very nice, except for those two hideous little indicators jutting out like the afterthought they are . Suzuki got it right imo, they designed them with the bike in mind. Sorry rant over. I'm still looking for a red lensed integrated rear light cluster and Im already pretty much sold on the R&G tail tidy and a slightly smaller plate
Speak to Russ at Ducati Mondo, he does the red integrated tail light and is very helpful and delivers really quickly.....
Haha spoonz, no that's my dad and step mum's lorry. I still live with my parents, and no I'm not ashamed lol. I'm only 22!!
Also don't get an R&G tail tidy, get an Evotech performance one. Basically the same product (slightly different design, offering the same end result) and much cheaper.
22 and you ride an 848! When I was 22 I was driving around in a 4 speed mars red VW Polo classic. That was 14 years ago thou
Lol I bought it when I was 20. Worry not, you're not talking to a massively spoilt little twat. I had a bad bike crash when I was 17 and 3 years on I ended with a rather handsome cheque
