I installed washers on the tail to stop the numberplate jiggling, but left the indicators, are there any arftermarket ones that don't wobble around so loosely? Secondly, when going over bump or into wind, the screen, instruments and nose wobble a fair bit sometimes, not much, but just wondered if it's meant to be fixed or if it's mounted on rubber like the tail? If so, I will put washers there as well, the wobbling annoys me no end.
I saw the thread title, and opened it in great anticipation................................. I've never been so dissapointed. :frown:
You can cure the wobble by moving the indicator stalks in. It takes a bit of fiddling, but you can get them mounted so that one of the grooves that normally show on the stalk is used to locate them in the tail tidy. I did this and the indicators don't wobble any more, plus it tidies up the rear end without the expense of after-market indicators. If you do a search on here I think there might be a how-to article (I followed someone's article on the web when I did mine).
Yeah - takes a bit of pushing and shoving - but can be done... If you don't mind them sticking out, and just want to stop the wobble, have a look at this one: http://www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk/index.cfm?fa=contentGeneric.xcqsqfklorcyzcxw&pageId=4937690
When I tried, the plate that screws on simply didn't fit right... Maybe I need to get it indoors and not rush it, bit of Vaseline might help and stop the rubber pinching.
The rear LED indicators on the Euro 1199 Panigale are a direct OEM replacement for around £50. Plugs directly into the existing loom. http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/cheap-easy-bolt-led-turn-signals-4957/
Curious was I till I typed 'www.xhamster.com'... DO NOT DO THIS WHILST AT WORK!!! Phew, i think i got away with it. I was looking up megasquirt fuel injection for veedubs recently and typed megasquirt in. Boss was nearby, thank god he has a sense of humour. its msefi.com not megasquirt.com
I think the issue of the wobbly rear has been addressed. Re the wobbly front, does it still wobble when you get your head right in close? If so, maybe more bracketry is needed, otherwise, in my experience, I'd suggest the front is firm enough. Try moving your head forward. If that helps, push further in.
OE stuff is a safe bet for quality, but for a really cheap option (£7.50 a pair !), you could consider these: 2X LED Short Stalk Universal Motorcycle Turn Signals Indicators Lights Red New | eBay available in black as well. They are made of aluminium or similar and have worked OK for a few months on my Suzuki with no wobbling. I'd consider fitting the same units to my 900SS but that will require resistors (cheap from same ebay shop) or a replacement relay.
Head distance makes no difference, it's not turbulence, it's just air hitting the top of the MRA screen causing it to flex the screen which then moves the instruments and stuff. I will try record with my go pro at the weekend.
