Today (via the missus) I made my 8 week old daughter watch the 2013 IOM TT Review. They're never too young to start.
I just booked my MH in for an Mot next week.Whilst at the garage I saw a collection of lovely old Brit bikes that the garage owner has rebuilt over the last few years.I think I have found the right person to rebuild the engine from my Triton.I would like to see her back on the road this year, she has been laid up for over 3 years now while my Ducatis have had all the attention.
booked the strada in for heated grips tomorrow, then went and tested my wet weather gear. went out in the pissing rain, did 80miles and stayed nice and dry ;-)
It was a sultry 10°C here, so i felt constrained to take the 999 out for a warm up. This in the interests of charging the battery (although it was in fine fettle) and making it feel happy. I haven't ridden it for at least a couple of months and it's been sitting in my very unheated garage where the temp of late can't have been much above zero. It started 2nd stab on the starter and idled immediately. I just hooned around for 30 miles. I had no great desire to, but looking after your Ducati demands these sacrifices. To be honest, I quite enjoyed myself, although I wasn't indulging in any knee-down antics with cold roads and cold tyres. I've put it back to bed now.
im sure if you look closely she is braking and changing down in sympathy with her feet. my little, girl,of 1year next Monday, hides when I start the 916 up, and hides her face if I go near with my helmet on. Mind you she does that without my lid on, I must be ugly, I guess!
Oh dear. Looks like I may be getting wet feet tonight:frown: Been waiting for my house to flood for a couple of weeks now, but it never happened, and a good dry spell today seemed to be the end of my worries. But when I got home just now I found the council have delivered a load of sandbags to every house in my street. I'm kinda hoping it's just the council being stupid as usual, but somehow I doubt it. The Thames has spilled it's guts all over the other side of Chertsey, which is causing fairly major traffic problems. I think they may be planning to divert the water to ease the traffic nightmare. And that means fig gets wet:frown:
Thats pretty crap Fig, hope you escape it, it's been like Armageddon here in Oxford this week, feel very sorry for the poor souls who have now been flooded for the third time in 10 years.
