749 cracked dash

  1. Hi all, i've just had the dash crack on my 749, both the revcounter and the speedo have gone. Anyone had any experience of this, ta. kenny

  4. Mine did too, luckily I had a spare so just popped it off and fitted the new one.....

  5. 749 cracked speedo assembly.

    Thanks for that, was that a complete clock assembly you changed or do you (or anyone) have contact details of where one would get just the glass. I have emailed magneti marelli to see if they can help so i'll keep my fingers crossed on that.

  6. Seem to recall reading that the screen can act like a magnifying glass, concentrating the suns rays on the speedo' /tacho glass, resulting in cracking. Best to avoid leaving in the sun I suppose!

  7. That seems to be the theory although split brake fluid has also been blamed.

    Not that big a problem this year. :rolleyes:

  8. Mine cracked on a very hot day. I had put it down to a couple of tiny splashes of clutch fluid that had splattered after bleeding up. I have about 3 cracks
