I used to have a black one. I know it's none of my business but I don't like them gold stickers I'm afraid Doc.
No probs sir - is only the one and came with the bike. I don't even notice it to be fair:smile: Rest of it ok lol?
Ah fair point. Both on already also. Thought bout removing the tank pad even though I don't mind it, but its a big bugger and was little worried that removing it may damage paint. Arlen Ness dragon matches me kit lol!! Poss hiding scuffs I wonder? Pics posted for opinion so all fair / reasoned criticism taken on board - think overall I'm pretty happy with how the bike looks, more so since me crash when it became more important to just enjoy the ride rather than having the most up to date / powerful / tricked up two wheels:smile:
Ah ok - hadn't taken offence as its always interesting to see what others think anyway. I do like the red framed bikes, but I'm with you on the black (gloss). Think it makes em look that much more different but in an understated way. Love how it rides, and hopefully even better since last service when amongst other "stuff" the springs were changed for less stiff items. For a ducati the clutch is super light - almost on par with the 696 and 796 monsters and hypers! Won't do anything much else to this one now. I am minded to get a toned down tank pad although strangely the splash of red sorta looks ok and I worry about such a big blob of strong sticky stuff knackering the paint if I were to lift it (even carefully with gentle heat etc).
Beautiful imo. Why do they make the sidestand so short? Mine's an Italian market model so thought it must be because they ride on the wrong side of the road but yours looks the same?
Cheers. No idea re stand - always worried its gonna tip over. I use an ice hockey puck when convenient when out and about to keep the lean angle sensible.
I had a 749 for 3 years and used to cringe and get ready to throw myself in between it and floor every time I lent it over onto the side stand!. It never did fall over it just used turn my life into paranoid turmoil every time I parked it up when out!.
I prefer the red.....HOWEVER, that my good man is a fine specimen in its current black guise. A jolly good bit of elbow grease has paid off. Looks great.
Feel similar! Just got my 1198 serviced and new fairing panel so it looks gorgeous again but still got a couple of months before it comes out. #bored!
Nice bike there matey. I've just purchased a 749. Fantastic bike but why did ducati bother with the standard mirrors???? The ones you have there look like they may actually work and look kinda factory finish and not a halfords bolt on special. Do you know what make they are ?
