Is it an OEC? That's just a guess, based on the front trapezoid suspension layout. If it is, then the ultimate Marmite engineer Grenville Bradshaw would be the designer. I quite like it.
I wouldn't ride it, not even for a laugh..............It would destroy what's left of my street-cred straightaway...... PS..........It's name doesn't do it any good at all..............'Majestic'........French I think
Any modern in line 4 race rep, any modern duke I'm afraid. Eeeugh. Late 60's early 70's eastern block like the mz nicey
Both the pictured bikes would find space in my garage, specially the MZ. I like anything quirky. Marmite for me is Honda's Deauville - unless you could squeeze a Firestorm engine between it's flanks...
+1 Figaro. The fact that I love Ducati's mean I alreadly like strange stuff. All of my mates who ride Jap 4's think I'm nuts and don't get it. Where I think what they have in their garages are totally bland.
I bought an MZ out of pure necessity; I needed wheels and I was skint, a brand new MZ was £900. Done deal. What it taught me, however, is that you don't a squillion bhp to have fun, or own an MV Agusta in order to be proud of your machine. I've said it many times before, but that MZ was the best bike I've ever owned. I px'd a perfectly good low mileage Griso for an ancient Le Mans with a gazillion miles on the clock just to get back a feeling I had when I owned an old T3 back in the day. In fiscal terms it's utter madness, but I'm far happier with the Lemon, and that's what counts. Buy the bike that makes you smile, and be prepared to try something different. You never know what you're missing out on. I rode a Harley Servicar a while back, 45mph flat out, and fookin' scary with it. I owned a Beamish trials outfit, same as the Harley but even scarier. These bikes stick in the memory far more than a silky smooth modern sports bolide. Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder, fear, raucous laughter and unfettered desire do. If you buy a bike and don't fall in love with it, bin it and buy another one, there are so many to choose from...of all shapes and sizes. I won't buy a Harley though, cos I'm scared I might actually like it...
I honestly think that I am constantly trying to find the bike that gave me the sense of freedom I felt at 16, remember just sitting on my fizzy smelling the petrol, pretending when I kicked started it that it was my dads t140, that sense of freedom, sense of adventure, the feeling of excitement getting up early just to ride riding all day just enjoying riding. Jeez I loved that bike. Oh and I love marmite, olives and anchovies
Unless you can dump the wife, the kids, the mortgage and forget all the things you ever did and swore never to do again, you on a loser Peter Pan
Yamaha Virago 1100 with tassley bits dangling from the bars. Love old MZ's, had a TS250 Supafive, brilliant bike. OGR
