Suspicious eBay item?

  1. We think there are a lot of things that just don't look like it's what it's supposed to be....

    Anyone else agree?
Just put it out there in case it is dodgy and anyone was tempted or worse, it has been nicked and redone as something else :frown:

Not that I'm browsing for a new bike of course...

  2. 996 fairings & biposto subframe?

  3. The phrase "don't touch with a barge pole" springs to mind. The fairings issue is weird, crashed and repaired ? Plus black front calipers ? Not sure it's been loved and had no expense spared.

  4. If SP, why would one 'upgrade' to Showa when would have come with Ohlins to begin with? Plus it has wrong wheels we think also.
    Just doesn't seem right

  5. All Sp's were yellow weren't they so its the whole lot thats not correct.

I would not be too worried about the sub frame on its own, i had a BP one on my 748 R for when the wife wanted a trip out.

Still would not touch this one with a barge pole though.

  6. Pretty sure the SP came with Showa (as did the early 916SPS), rear wheel looks about right, but would need a lot of research to make sure it wasn't just a bitsa

  7. 
Could always put red 996 ones on 

  8. Crashed and repaired at best. repaired with nicked parts or ringer worst way. Dodgy bike.

  9. It's a Cagiva Mito 125 with Ducati Decals :)

  10. That's no SP. I spent a lot of time researching before I bought an SPS (pic herewith). There are a lot of pretend SP and SPS' about. I even sent my prospect purchase VIN number to Italy to confirm the provenance of my bike. Mine had the frame and wheels tarted by the previous owners but apart from that, it was a beauty. I regret selling it but after a pal had a big bike accident, I promised the War Office that, if she gave up the fags I would sell the bike and take up a more sedentary activity. She said yes. I sold the bike. She did not give up the fags. I bought a 999s last week but I would like my SPS back some day as well with a lottery win!

  11. Mistake! You should only have sold the bike after she gave up fags for at least 6 moths with no relapses.

It's a lot easier to buy a packet of fags than a new bike!

  12. There is no hindsight on a rifle as they used to say......

  13. I see he has forgot to mention it will be needing new fork seals. Its done well to be bid over £2k I hope the new owner wont be to dispointed when he finds out what a turd he has bought.

  14. Item was sold but now relisted - reason as 'previous bidder misinterpreted / misunderstood description' Hmmmm :-(

  15. You mean bidder thought it was actually as good as described?! Lol
