Hi to you all, Im new to this forum and from wet Wiltshire. I recognise a few names from DSC many years ago. I previously had an ST4 and only stopped owning a Ducati as the Multistrada didn't float my boat so I bought a BMW K1300S, which was an awesome bike. I now ride an R1200RT & F800GS, virtually every day. Im facing a my half century this year so have decided I going to get a Panigale. Im just trying to make up my mind 899 or 1199. I test rode the 899 and Snells last weekend and just trying to setup a ride on the 1199. I can see I will need some mirror extenders or different mirrors. Hope to see you around sometime. Steve
Hello, welcome in. Good plan to ride both and see how u get on How did u find the 899? Did u do many miles? What are Snells like in your experience as it's a nice run for me.
Knowing you steve, unless you've shrunk in height and statue, be interesting to see how you get on with them as they are both tiny
Lost a bit of weight, but still 6ft. I enjoyed the 899, however it was wet and that spoilt the ride. Hoping to get back there this coming week and try both.
Snells are great, my kind of dealer, welcoming and helpful. I have only previously used them as a parts supplier and servicing workshop.
Welcome, I kind of went down a similar road to speak of. Wanted a k1200s for some time but then went on a friends k1300s with all the bits on and decided I wanted one! Until of course my other friend bought a 1098 with a boatload of carbon and saw a 1198 and ended up buying it! Maybe a few years with the duke and see !
The K1300S was a great bike, but obviously a compromise. I have finally decided an 1199 is the one for me, just need to conclude a deal.
