A question for the long distance tourers

  1. We had garages here too

  2. I love camping, and like to be totally self sufficient. Here's what I took to Spa last year on the Radical Pantah. I fitted a steel tank for the tank bag, and a cheapo car satnav with european maps fits onto the speedo glass using a windscreen mount ;-) My Elefant has all the boxes and TomTom rider, and I'll be loading tht up for WDW this year. As I live 15 mins from the Channel Tunnel we sometimes get over for a days riding in France. Head West along the coast towards Normandy if you've only got a day, some nice routes along the coast :upyeah:

  3. Just allow 2 days each way, and however much time you want to stay there.

  4. Good way of looking at it. So 2 weeks is good then? As I imagine 100 miles on those mountain roads is a push eh?

  5. Depends. 100-150 is plenty, for sure, but I've not stayed in the area, only passed through, so my days off-motorway tend to be around the 300 mark.

  6. I liked the giau pass and sella pass in the Dolomites , so much I've booked to go to Dolomites in June and take in the grossglockner

  7. Christ, you could have warned us about the fuglystradas:eek:

  8. Yes mate think I was 1 of about 36 euro multistrada meet 2010 just booked up for this years

  9. That looks seriously hard core

I wouldn't put anything larger than a tiny rucksack on my back whilst on two wheels.

  10. I drove that area a few years ago and it is seriously good. Looking forward to going there on two wheels hopefully later this year.

  11. over by Saint Moritz the julier and bernina were pretty good, on the way back from WDW we did about 6 in a row, it was quite hard work

  12. ARCHIESCAMPINGS

A database of european campsites. Can be loaded as a POI or just trawled through; campsites are listed by geographical coordinates.

  13. Can we have a database of cheap hotels with hot receptionists please.
