Expensive

  1. Been quite an expensive week!

New set of rubber...PR3's £265 fitted and balanced!

Plus Delilah had a manicure and some beauty treatment....service at 6900miles for £158

Asked the dealer to make a note of the dash lights issue, in case it goes down in the future....wonder if they did!

I think it will be the last time I go to a duc dealer for a service! Warranty expires in sept!

Oh he did say the tyre fitter did not torque the front wheel properly and that it was a bit loose!

  2. Whats your dash issue exactly Multi. Took mine in this week and told them that my neutral light is half lit some of the time. They said they would do it under warranty as long as I have photographic evidence ( Ducati want this not them). Price to change out of warranty, £800.00 plus. It's obviously to do with water getting in and would probably not be such a big problem. Coming to sell time is the issue, such a pity the mileage is out of sink after though.

  3. I recently fitted a set of PR3's Multi rider, although expensive they are worth it.

£158 for a 7,500 service, wow that's good where was that done as I paid £221 yesterday for my 2yr/7,500 service, how many hours labour did they charge out of interest?

  4. Just fitted Metzeler Z8s to my bike. £230 for the pair, plus £25 cashback from Metzeler. £20 to have them fitted so I'm happy with that.

  5. Ojobear my issue with the dash is that when the indicator flashes the abs light glows faintly, the same when the high beam light is on, there's a faint glow of the other warning lights!

Dealer tried to fob me off with light coming through from one bulb to the other, but it's not so simple....I have read the posts on the forum!

However it's a small nigly little issue and to be quite Frank I can live with it ( it's only when it's dark that it's noticeable ). My big worry is in year 3 or 4 or 5 it breaks completely, then I'm £800 down, and it's something which was an issue from the start!

  6. Hi Tt I actually wanted the Z8's, but according to the tyre fitter the supplier was out of stock! Ordered the PR3's, they were going to be £326 fitted and balanced! Chap told me 10am tomorrow they'll be in!
I got there at 12 no tyres.....fffffrrrruuustration!

So went to HGB and they had a set off the shelf for £265, so I saved a bit of money! :upyeah:

  7. Anthill I will have to check the paperwork again to see what he charged will revert!

  8. Had a look and they charged 1.5x labour at £55/hr so 82,5 to be exact.

    Is that good or bad?

  9. £55 an hour is good! Riders want £83.50 FFS.

  10. I was charged 2.5hrs @ £51/hr so rate better but hrs more! I appreciate rates are going to vary due to different overheads etc but don't understand how one dealer can charge more labour time than another as I would expect it to be set by Ducati?

  11. That's pretty much the case throughout the automotive world, to be fair. There's a set rate of recompense from the manufacturer for warranty work, but after that it's down the dealer what they want to charge. Glitzy showrooms etc cost a lot to keep running, they have to claw it back somehow.

That'll be the main reason why places like Riders are more expensive than dealers whose showroom is a lot more modest - Moto Rapido for example, or Snells (even more so before the refit).

  12. Well I for one will be looking for a smaller "Official" Ducati dealer to do my servicing, I'm not paying £83 an hour FFS!

  13. Mines just had its 7500 service at woods in Abergele, cost me £120 plus they fitted a new dash under warranty as the oil light was flashing on when it felt like it.

  14. What is ffs?

  15. For F*ck Sake

  16. Jees and here's me thinking it's like "full functional service" or something.... Dave you teach me anymore and we'll have to call u teach next ;)) thanks bud....no hard feelings about the rugby comment previously !

  17. None taken mate, if ya can't have a larf what can ya do !

  18. Servicing

If any of you guys are near to Junction 11A - M5 there's a guy who trades as Motovation. He's a self employed Ducati trained technician who can take any Duke down to the last washer. A real enthusiast who works from 8am - 8pm 6 days a week. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Loads of rave reviews on the old forum and his rates are
