Danny Webb will line up on the start line at IOMTT 2014 Danny Webb and the 2014 Isle of Man TT races | Superbike
I hope he does well, perhaps some more GP stars will look to the island if he does. And hey, if he's going for a pay packet, good luck to him on that front too. It ain't a crime.
Well I think that he should have to do the manx first . Hes never even ridden a super bike , never raced on a street circuit . God forbid but if he falls and hurts , or worse , himself the TT will get slated . Could even be the end of it . I think the organisers have got it wrong on this occasion and experience should be a must for the isle of man TT.
You have a point , similar to Josh Brookes , although he had experience on a superbike . This could turn out badly , lets hope not.
Ryan Farqhar is going to get him some testing in. Don't forget Conor Cummins had no road experience before the TT, he had done local club racing and the R6 Cup and he has done well (except for the little tumble off the Varandah)
Just hope that these words are not brought up later . I would like to see him do well but I would also like to see him do some other street racing first . Thinking this is a payday is a route to disaster . "Newcomers traditionally come to the TT having previously competed in the Manx GP or one of the Irish road racing events. Danny comes from the glitz and glamour of the MotoGP paddock. Has he ‘stolen’ the place of a more deserving road racer that has served time on the roads? Is it a step too far to put somebody with seemingly zero road racing experience on a superbike"
Did Josh Brookes do the Manx first..? No. And I don't see anyone complaining about him even though he's far more likely to end up in the scenery.
You are right fig . The TT was originally for all comers so theres no reason to say he shouldnt . I just think that with him being as competitive as he is and as fast as it is now a bit of road racing experience would help . He will want to be at the front so hes going to have to do 130 mph laps .
