  1. Are yes. I thought you were referring to the original Wall shows at Earls Court, which I saw, but also caught the Delicate Sound of Thunder and Pulse tours, which I preferred even if there was no Roger Waters.

I'm not really a big fan of The Wall. It has its moments, but it's gloomy and slightly bombastic. The original show was great, but not one of my stand out concerts.

It is very hard to beat Talking Heads at the Empire Pool Wembley 1982. I was listening to their stuff obsessively at the time (still a big fan). David Byrne was vastly amusing, and the constant funk had everyone dancing, even if we all had seats. Tom Tom Club as support was by no means shabby either.

I went up to the concert on my Honda 400N, and swapped with my brother's 400T for the ride home. My brother wanted to borrow my 400N for dispatching, as the 400T had holes in the exhausts, made a din and wouldn't idle. I woke up half of Oxfordshire on the ride home. A couple of weeks later, my brother had succeeded in dropping the Superdream in Whitehall.

  2. Saw Floyd at Earls Court in the 70's the week after we'd been to see Bowie, Aladdin Sane tour. All you could hear at Bowie was screaming teenyboppers. At the Floyd we were about 6 rows from the front, They played Echoes with smoke machines on full throttle, I couldn't see my hand in front of me. Saw them do Atom Heart Mother at Hyde Park(71?) from a distance and Dark Side at the Rainbow 6months before the LP was released. 4 of us threw a sickie to see them do The Wall(82?) at Earls Court. I was into Punk by then and went for old times sake after all the hype on the radio. We got tickets from touts who were quite reasonable in those days.

  5. the most disappointing was a few years ago - the Police reunion at Twickenham , front row free seats as my boss at the time

should have seen them when I was still a teenager

  6. Ive seen a few. From Billy Joel to Obituary to Alice In Chains in Glasgow just before xmas....to even gettin drunk with Kreator on a tour bus many moons ago.

hard to rate which was best.

  7. As much as I despise the likes of Wonga,I love this advert and the skills shown in that guys playing.Quite refreshing.

  8. As a 'youth' I went to many gigs, I even did an 800 mile round trip on a Ducati 250 Scrambler to see Led Zeppelin. :upyeah:

Later on family life stopped it for a while but in the last few years I've been to a few with my teenage Sons, mostly old school rock/blues.

My then 12/13 yr old son was definitely the youngest person at an Eric Clapton concert...

  9. I used to go to Festivals and concerts in the 70s early 80s great times wrecked on drink & drugs! My mates have dragged me to some of the bands reunion concerts... boring as fuck .. All respectable now , I went to see Waters doin the Wall in Sydney 2yrs ago thought it was shite ..And the cost..Fuck me i only paid £4 or somethin to see Floyd in Knebworth in 75!
