anyone read it ? .. is it worth buying the rag ? my old mutli needs full service belts and values ..ball park figure how much do you reckon?
If it's an older multi , I just spent £180 on 2 belts,4 plugs , oil and oil filter and washers , I was quoted £375 by dealer to do belt service and anything else they found wrong would be extra , so bought the parts and have done myself
Having read your post properly you have a 1000 like myself so yeah £180 for all the parts, I did my belts for the first time ever piece of piss really don't know why I was so worried beforehand , didn't need valves shimming as only 4700 miles and was advised they should be ok to about 15,000
Belts are the easy bits, even measuring gaps is not that hard. On the later one you only start second guessing yourself if you are barely within spec or out of it. Adjusting shims is a new ball game all together. I guess it would be easy if one had a full set of those at home so you can try few till you get perfect fit. Otherwise how good it will be done purely depends how good was your measurement. I must say 180 is still steap m900 belts 45GBP, two plugs 15, oil filter 10, oil 30, washer 5. Engine going pop priceless ...... Paul just do it, honestly not that hard. If you not certain of shims or know they are out take the cylinder heads off and drop off to good Ducati mechanic. Will save you loads of dosh.
Must look for those belts next time , I was pleased to save myself £200 nearly a set of tyres or boat to Bilbao
