Always like to get Mrs Mervyn on board when I get the bike buying urges,so today I showed her some pictures of the new BMW R Nine T,one of the bikes I am hoping to test ride in March. She asks me what is so special about this bike-so I point out the low seat height and it's not to fast for me,and would make a good everyday bike She then asks about the new Ducati Monster I had shown an interest in.I will test that one as well I tell her. Will you sell the Streetfighter then? What could I say,yes of course. Mrs Mervyn then summed up by bike ownership in the following words; So you have one bike in the garage to ride as your everyday bike.some old bikes to fiddle about with, and one to go 'poncing' around on.This statement was finished off with the all knowing smile-the sort you would give to a naughty boy:tongue: Bless her,she then volunteered to drive me over to see the bike I will most likely buy this coming weekend.
Well there's one advantage of same sex marriage. Must be a fella surely?! The Nine-T does look lovely though
Mrs Boots is a saint too. She knows I am more interested in bikes than other women. So is happy for me to fuck off out to the garage and leave her in peace.
I've not met her but I'm sure you're right. Let us know how you get on...On looks alone I think the Nine-T is ace. Although its apparently a bit wafty at the back as its a shaft drive. Interested to hear your thoughts after a ride.
"So you have one bike in the garage to ride as your everyday bike.some old bikes to fiddle about with, and one to go 'poncing' around on" Brilliant! So true!
My everyday bike (when sunny and dry) is my 1198. My poncing about bike is my 916. My fiddling bike is my VW Campervan (Lord Percy).
God I hate smokies. My gran loved em but I hated the stench. I still do not eat fish to this day but the smell always reminds me of her. Lol, no she didnt stink of fish. I miss my Gran.
So when is the wife going to be picking her new kitchen or her new conservatory, You won't be getting off Scott free. You just think you are.
Sounds like a keeper. You never know, you might need her to sit in the back of a tranny van holding a bike on a centre stand for 180 miles like mine did bless her. OGR
